New to Grow
I graduated from Eastern Washington University with his Masters of Social Work degree in 2019. Since then, I earned my Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Independent Clinical Social Work license in the state of Washington, and my Licensed Mental Health Counselor license in Florida. I have training in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), solution focused, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) & Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
In our first session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other, beginning to build a foundation of trust, and exploring what you’d like to get out of therapy and how I can support you on that journey.
One of my greatest strengths is integrating a variety of treatment approaches to provide individualized care, helping to guide and support you more effectively on your journey.
My ideal client is someone who is ready to make the courageous choice to start working with their emotions rather than fighting against them. I also work with individuals who want to process the weight of past trauma - whether recent or long ago, whether physical, sexual, or emotional. No trauma is ever “too small” or “too big” to bring into the healing process.
I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) because it emphasizes the connection between personal values and everyday decision-making. While we cannot choose our emotions - since they often arise automatically - we can choose how we respond to them. Though that choice may be difficult, it remains within our control. ACT provides evidence-based skills and strategies that empower individuals to make decisions consistent with their values, even in the presence of challenging thoughts and feelings.
I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) because of its demonstrated effectiveness in treating trauma. Research has consistently shown that EMDR can significantly reduce symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and related conditions.
