I grew up immersed in more than one culture. I identify as South Asian American and grew up in the United States. I consider myself to have a strong cross-cultural understanding, and can relate to individuals who come from various cultures and backgrounds, including the LGBTQ community. My approach to counseling is always to get to know the individual first, understand their goals for counseling, and work with them as a team to help them get to where they desire to be in their life. I am always open to feedback and willing to try new methods or approaches that best fit the needs of each individual I work with, as every individual is unique!

Growing up in a military community as a student-athlete and bartender, I learned quickly that my passion and love for people would take the lead in picking a career. While receiving my master's degree at the University of Southern California, I concentrated on family and couple dynamics with a focus on military culture. Since becoming licensed in Texas, I have worked in the acute hospital setting with individuals in crisis processing trauma and working through the stages of grief. I specialize in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), solution-focused therapy, and task-oriented therapy. I look forward to working with individuals and couples in all different stages of life to help them process, heal, and move forward with proper coping skills to be as successful as possible.

I also helped people who have experienced trauma or emotional abuse. I would like to clarify my expertise does not include eating disorders, or pornography addiction as of yet, although I do understand some of the symptoms and causes.
