Hi, and welcome! I'm a counselor in Virginia, and I'm currently accepting new virtual clients. I work with adults going through big life changes, with a special focus on supporting women and LGBTQ+ clients. Many of the people I see are dealing with anxiety, stress, burnout, grief, or the ups and downs of a major transition. My style is warm, down-to-earth, and centered on your strengths. I'll meet you where you are and help you move forward with more clarity and confidence. I also offer sessions that include time with horses, held outdoors in a calm, peaceful setting. You don't need any horse experience, and there's no riding involved. These sessions can help you feel more grounded, build your confidence, and get more comfortable with your emotions. They're available in the Harrisonburg and Rockingham County area.

My name is Khiana Gray Wyatt-Locus, and I am the owner of Teatime With Khi, PLLC. I am inspired by the African American slang “spilling the tea,” which symbolizes the value of sharing one’s truth in a nurturing setting. I believe that when individuals feel free to express their authentic selves, they pave the way for life-changing opportunities. At Teatime With Khi, PLLC, therapy is not about staying stuck in the same cycle for years. It is about creating real change, building confidence, and helping you get where you need to be. The tea is this: Khi is going to help get you right. I specialize in short-term, goal-focused therapy designed for clients who are ready to do the work and see results. Most clients work with me for about 6–10 sessions, where we focus on practical strategies, mindset shifts, emotional healing, and accountability that supports lasting growth. My approach is strengths-based and solution-focused, meaning we spend less time dwelling on what is wrong and more time identifying what is already working, what needs to shift, and how to move you forward. I believe you already have strengths, resilience, and answers within you, my role is to help you uncover them, strengthen them, and use them effectively.

My name is Michael Starr, and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. I believe therapy is more than just problem-solving, it’s a place to rediscover who you are, heal what’s been hidden, and move forward with clarity and strength. I work with individuals, couples, and families facing anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, identity questions, and emotional overwhelm. My style is honest, grounded, and deeply respectful of the human experience. I use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trauma-Focused CBT, but I also hold space for what cannot always be explained, your story, your meaning, your growth. Clients often come to me feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward. Together, we uncover the patterns keeping you there and build the insight, skills, and resilience to move through them. You won’t be rushed or judged. You’ll be heard, supported, and challenged when needed. You don’t have to have all the answers. You just have to be willing to start. Healing begins with one honest conversation, and I’m here to take that step with you.

I am a psychotherapist who works with a diverse population of people. My goal is to collaborate with individuals to assist them in achieving their therapy goal(S). My treatment modalities are cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, and Ericksonian hypnotherapy approaches. Although I used these modalities, I do not use a one size fits all approach. I am a think-out-of-the-box clinician that will often challenge clients to try approaches that may be out of their comfort zone. Some examples of my experience include working with individual clients on developing skills in coping with mental health conditions/diagnosis, life stress, finding balance, and improving self-esteem. Although I use these approaches, my clients tell me it feels like we are having a conversation as opposed to feeling like they are in a therapy session. I have a specialization in working with Veterans, LGBTQI, men, and people of color populations. However, I work with all people who are seeking mental health services. I am licensed in DC (LICSW), VA (LCSW), MD (LCSW-C), and PA (LCSW). I have BS in Human Ecology, BA in Humanities from The Ohio State University, MSW from San Jose State University and Post Masters fellowship in mental health from Stanford University.

Hello, my name is Luiza and I am the owner/therapist of FIT MIND counseling services. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in FL & MA and a Licensed Professional Counselor in DC, GA & VA. I am from Brazil, and I speak Portuguese as well :) I can understand Spanish pretty well too, but I do not speak fluently. FIT MIND counseling services enjoys empowering clients finding a more meaningful way to live their lives and assisting them learning about the importance of self-love. Helping clients to focus on themselves and on their self-care is a precious thing. When they learn to embrace and unconditionally love for being themselves, they become stronger in the face of negativity and more able to hold onto positive thoughts when faced with challenges. Mental illness is as real as any physical illness. We talk normally about cancer and diabetes, although the same should apply to mental illness. Emotional and mental health are just as important as the physical health of a human being. The emotional trauma that a brain endures in various of the human life cycle can be damaging and in the long run, just as detrimental as a psychical illness. People donate their organs, but they cannot donate their brains. Some people live with human-made hearts, but there is no such thing as human-made brains. I believe that our brain is the most important organ in our human body, so why don’t we start taking good care of it? Therapy is not only for people with mental illness. Therapy is for everyone. We all have faced or currently face some hardships in life. Talking to a therapist can help you deeply in improving your mental health, decrease your stress and live with more joy and intention! Starting therapy can feel intimidating, awkward, or like something you’ve been putting off for way too long—and however you’re showing up, you’re allowed to come in exactly as you are. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (practicing psychotherapy since 2022 with prior experience in HR and Coaching) who focuses on creating a space where you don’t have to filter yourself or “get it right.” If your thoughts feel all over the place, if you don’t know where to start, or if part of you is unsure this will even help—that’s okay. We’ll figure it out together. I work with individuals navigating anxiety, ADHD, depression, occupational stress, identity questions, relationship matters (kink and polyamory friendly), and feeling stuck in patterns that aren’t working anymore. I also have experience working with more complex emotional and personality-related concerns, including Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder (OCPD). A lot of my clients are used to holding it all together on the outside while feeling overwhelmed, reactive, or exhausted on the inside—and are ready for something to actually shift. My style is supportive but real. I’m here to listen, but also to help you understand what’s going on beneath the surface and start making changes that feel meaningful—not just temporary — via skills that go beyond breathwork. I hold a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and am currently pursuing a second Master’s in Applied Psychology, which reflects my commitment to continuing to grow and deepen the way I support my clients. Outside of therapy, I’m into houseplants, video games, and spending time with my dogs—which mostly just means I understand the need for both structure and an escape sometimes.

I am excited about the success my clients have accomplished. It is their discovery that is most interesting: for example, it is possible to change personality even though we have always been told it never happens! We approach this by exploring emotions that form the building blocks of personality. In this sort of work, I find that the most effective therapy happens when clients and I form a interpersonal therapeutic bond of trust. By the way, when I say that change is possible , I really believe it, and I am confident that if you are willing to work on what many would call impossible...building trust...you will leave our sessions feeling a sense of increased wholeness. (Today also marks the beginning of a new partnership with Teach America! I have loved Teach America since they began. Grow Therapy and I are offering 20 counseling sessions to Teach America members free of charge!)

I am a compassionate mental health counselor with over 10 years of experience supporting individuals, children, and families. I began my counseling journey through crisis hotline work and community-based advocacy, experiences that shaped my commitment to creating safe, supportive spaces for healing. My professional background includes crisis intervention, residential treatment, intensive outpatient, and outpatient care. I have experience supporting clients navigating anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, and family and relationship concerns. I am especially passionate about working with children ages 8 and older, helping them develop emotional awareness, strengthen coping skills, and build resilience in ways that are developmentally appropriate and supportive.

When life feels heavy, confusing, or harder to manage than it used to, having the right support can make all the difference. I began working in the mental health field 20 years ago after earning my undergraduate degree from Averett University, and later returned to school to earn my Master’s in Counseling from Old Dominion University. Over the course of my career, I have worked with a wide range of individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, psychosis, crisis situations, and chronic stress. Many of the people I support come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, stuck in survival mode, or unsure how to move forward. My goal is to provide a steady, compassionate space where you can feel understood, build coping skills, and begin working toward greater clarity, stability, and emotional well-being.
