Hello, my name is Michelle. I believe therapy is a time to examine internalized experiences that shape our perspectives and behaviors. Engaging in introspective work together can challenge us to reframe maladaptive thoughts. I aim to assist clients with managing emotional dysregulation and symptoms associated with depression, anxiety, and trauma in a safe, nonjudgmental space. I hope to foster growth and strengthen coping skills during difficult transitional points in a person’s life. I am interested in exploring my clients' family of origin and attachment styles. I have a special sensitivity to sociocultural factors and intergenerational trauma. I embrace the complexities that make up the lived experiences of my clients and affirm their unique identities.

Welcome! The Ebbs and Flows of Life are something we all experience. We flow towards our hopes and dreams, while other times we may flow away. When your life ebbs it is like you are struggling against the current, and fighting your way through the current to grasp what is important to you. Perhaps the times you are flowing away are a result of relationship concerns, addiction, past trauma, anxiety or living with negativity. Like large rocks under the water, you may not be able to see them but they are creating obstacles in achieving your goals while potentially impacting both your health and well-being. I believe that by taking this step in seeking help you are interested in moving forward back to what is important to you. My role is to help you on your journey.

I believe therapy works best when it feels less like a clinical appointment and more like a conversation with someone who's genuinely listening — really listening, not just waiting for their turn to speak. That's the space I try to create in every session: one where you can be honest without feeling judged, and where you leave feeling a little lighter than when you walked in. Many of my clients tell me they felt comfortable opening up right away, even in their very first session. That's not an accident — I take the time to understand where you actually are in your life before jumping to solutions. Whether you're navigating a major life transition, working through anxiety or depression, or just feeling stuck and unsure how to move forward, my goal is to help you see your situation more clearly and find a path that actually fits your life. I use an integrative approach — drawing on humanistic, solution-focused, and behavioral techniques — but the tools matter less than the relationship. I want you to feel heard, supported, and a little more hopeful after every conversation we have.

Growing up in a military community as a student-athlete and bartender, I learned quickly that my passion and love for people would take the lead in picking a career. After receiving my master's degree at the University of Southern California in social work, I became clinically licensed in multiple states and worked in an acute hospital setting. After working in multiple hospitals and an array of community organizations I chose to focus on psychotherapy to help others on a more intimate level. With my acute care experience I welcome individuals navigating end of life decisions and trauma (whether it be physical or emotional). I have extensive experience working with couples experiencing communication issues and issues surrounding sex, connection and unhealthy cyclic behavior. Additionally, I see individuals working through all types of life transitions, depression and anxiety. I am a proud ally of the LGBTQIA+ community and focus on sex positive choices and all relationship types including polycules and ethically non monogamous partnerships. I specialize in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), solution focused therapy (SFT) and emotional focused therapy (EFT). I look forward to working with individuals and couples in all different stages of life to help them process, heal, and move forward with proper coping skills to be as successful as possible.

I have worked in many different settings, such as inpatient behavioral health units, outpatient group therapy programs, and community-based settings. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing teletherapy to adults in Virginia. I approach therapy as a collaboration where we make space for what’s difficult or confusing while also noticing progress and moments of relief. Clients often describe our sessions as calm and genuine, with humor and honesty mixed in. I practice from a compassionate person-centered framework, integrating therapies to help you understand your experiences, manage distress and make changes that matter to you. I’m agnostic and open to people of all faiths and worldviews. Therapy isn’t supposed to always feel good. It can be uncomfortable and tiring at times. My hope is that you leave each session with a little more clarity, support, and confidence in yourself. If being on camera feels uncomfortable, we can discuss hiding self-view, adjusting your distance or camera angle while staying sufficiently visible, or covering my image on your screen without covering your camera. Phone-only appointments are not a routine substitute. My standard cash-pay rate is $90 for a scheduled one-hour therapy appointment. Reduced-fee sessions at $30 or $45 may be available for uninsured clients or those with limited financial means. When a paid session is out of reach, we can discuss a brief pro bono check-in based on clinical need, availability and applicable payer rules. Insurance costs depend on your plan. Please bring up financial concerns so we can discuss a manageable arrangement. Documentation requests Detailed letters, clinical summaries, forms and related calls take professional time outside sessions, billed through Square online invoicing. My standard documentation rate is $45/hour; clients with an existing $30 therapy rate pay $30/hour, and agreed pro bono work remains free. We agree on the scope, estimate and spending cap before work begins. I provide clinically supported treatment documentation; I do not offer VA DBQs or formal nexus opinions.

After completing training in clinical social work and psychology at the University of Maryland (M.S.W., 1988) and Saybrook Institute (Ph.D., 1991), I began practicing as a family, couples and individual therapist. I have hosted on radio/podcasts, have written two books and thousands of self-help articles in my "Life's a Beach" column for nationwide Gannett media. I love working with clients in the here-and-now, and finding solutions to move forward with life. My primary goal is to help you help yourself. I will guide and coach you, not tell you what to do. Diagnostic labels are useful at times, but you are not your labels. I'm your thinking partner: We'll reason and think our way to what makes sense together.

Many of the individuals and couples I work with are at a crossroads—frustrated, sometimes burnt out, and seeking practical, workable strategies for change. Therapy offers a dedicated, supportive space to identify obstacles and map a path toward meaningful personal growth. With over 15 years of experience across healthcare, restorative justice, and outpatient settings, I provide telehealth therapy at Grow for adults and couples. My practice focuses on: *Chronic Pain & Complex Medical Issues *Anxiety & Phobias *Fertility & Family Building Support *LGBTQ+ & Gender-Affirming Care *Eating Disorder/Substance Use Step-Down Maintenance: Supporting ongoing recovery from substance use or eating disorders following higher levels of care. *Couples Therapy: Improving communication and relational dynamics (clinical outpatient focus only). Practice Boundaries & Administrative Policies To maintain a clear focus on clinical care, please review the following scope boundaries: *Legal & Forensic Services: I do not provide forensic evaluations, court-ordered treatment, litigation support, or expert witness testimony for legal proceedings, divorce, or custody disputes. *Disability & Administrative Paperwork: I do not perform disability evaluations or complete short/long-term disability claims; I do not write Emotional Support Animal (ESA) letters. *Telehealth & Medical Requirements: Virtual therapy for chronic pain, ARFID, or medical distress serves strictly as a complementary psychological service. Because virtual care lacks physical monitoring: A. Clients with ARFID or eating disorders must maintain ongoing care with an in-person physician for routine medical safety. B. Clients seeking pain reprocessing or somatic therapy must have their pain evaluated by a physician. ******If medical or psychiatric needs exceed virtual outpatient scope, I will assist with referrals to local in-person providers**************

You can come back from anything no matter how bad you think the situation is. It is all about your mindset. Reprogramming your mindset is the key to your success. The power of change rest in your desire to want change. I believe that people have the power to change their circumstances within themselves by changing their thought pattern first. I am excited about the success my clients have accomplished. It is their discovery that is most interesting: for example, it is possible to change personality even though we have always been told it never happens! We approach this by exploring emotions that form the building blocks of personality. In this sort of work, I find that the most effective therapy happens when clients and I form a interpersonal therapeutic bond of trust. By the way, when I say that change is possible , I really believe it, and I am confident that if you are willing to work on what many would call impossible...building trust...you will leave our sessions feeling a sense of increased wholeness. (Today also marks the beginning of a new partnership with Teach America! I have loved Teach America since they began. Grow Therapy and I are offering 20 counseling sessions to Teach America members free of charge!)

I'm Charonne Randall, LCSW-C, a trauma-informed psychotherapist, leadership coach, speaker, and founder of Cultivating Unstoppable You and Soar Beyond Coaching & Consulting. With more than 20 years of experience helping individuals, couples, and leaders navigate life's challenges, I am passionate about helping people move from survival to authenticity. At my core, I'm a down-to-earth, relatable person who believes healing happens through genuine connection, not perfection. Clients often describe me as warm, compassionate, insightful, and easy to talk to. I create a space where people feel safe enough to be honest about their struggles, uncover the patterns that keep them stuck, and discover new ways of living, loving, and leading. My work integrates evidence-based approaches, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Relational Life Therapy (RLT), attachment-based therapy, and Christian counseling for those who desire faith integration. Whether I'm working with a couple seeking deeper connection, a leader battling burnout, or a woman who has spent years putting everyone else's needs before her own, my goal is to help people understand why they do what they do, heal the wounds beneath their protective patterns, and reconnect with who they truly are. My own journey through loss, life transitions, and personal reinvention has shaped my belief that our greatest challenges can become catalysts for growth and transformation. I am passionate about helping others remove the masks they've worn to survive, embrace their God-given worth, and cultivate lives marked by authenticity, purpose, peace, and meaningful connection.
