Hello there. My name is Joan I have been a social worker for over 25 years. Like you, I have had my own set of challenges and believe the key to overcoming life's obstacles is learning to plan and cope. We can't control all the pain that will come our way, but we can control how we react to it. Of course, this is sometimes easier said than done and we need help. I would be honored to assist you in your journey towards a happier healthier you.

My name is Elizabeth and I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the states of Texas and Arizona. I am also a certified school counselor and transitioned to full-time mental health counseling after working as a high school counselor. I have been working as a counselor for 10 years, primarily in the school setting. I helped my students with issues such as family problems, academic struggles, relationship issues, trauma/abuse, ADHD, autism, depression, anxiety, perfectionism, grief, and suicidal ideation. Before working as a counselor, I was an elementary teacher for 6 years. I have experience working with adults and adolescents. I love seeing my clients understand themselves better and improve their mental health. I feel comfortable counseling people from a variety of backgrounds, especially those whose backgrounds are different than my own. My entire professional career has been spent with a primarily Hispanic population, but I am comfortable with other cultures, as well. I believe my clients are the experts on their own lives and I want to work with them to improve their contentment, coping skills, and mental health. I believe it is important and beneficial to have a nonjudgmental, unbiased person to talk to. This is one of the best parts of counseling. I often use humor to lighten the mood when counseling. I find this helps grow my relationships with my clients. Congratulations on making the first step towards getting help. I would love to work with you.

Hello, my name is Teresa, practicing mental health for over 18 years working with the military population. Working as a middle school teacher in a lower socioeconomic area. This led to my desire to go back to school for my master’s degree in counseling psychology. Receiving my LPC licensure, led me to pursue my chemical dependency counselor license (LCDC). I began working as a substance abuse counselor with the US Army in substance abuse counseling. While working with the military I worked at a local hospital developing a program for civilians in chemical dependency. The need to work with individuals, and families including Service Members, led me to work as a contractor for private corporations. During this time, I received a certification in behavioral therapy to work with the autism spectrum population. Raised as a military dependent, then wife and mother, I experienced many aspects of different personalities. I was led to understand what it means to try to hide who you are to eventually become someone you may not recognize.
The goal is to have you see, life is wonderful, we go through the storm to appreciate the sunshine. The experience developed led me to work with addiction, anxiety, PTSD, and many other mental health issues. We are a beautiful bouquet with different views on life. Using an eclectic therapeutic array of mental health care has allotted me to develop individual care. This concept of care is the same for couples and group therapy. Some techniques include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and psychosocial therapeutic techniques.

Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or self-esteem concerns, I’ll support you in building insight, resilience, and a stronger sense of purpose.
Clients often share that sessions feel natural and comfortable like talking with someone who truly understands. That sense of connection is where meaningful growth begins and serves as the foundation for our work together.
Your next chapter starts here one step, one session, one insight at a time.
I value consistency in therapy, especially early on, as it helps build a strong foundation for meaningful progress. I typically recommend starting with weekly sessions for the first 6–8 weeks, and then we can reassess whether biweekly sessions are appropriate based on your needs and goals.
Sometimes we feel stuck and overwhelmed in our current life situations and need to talk to someone who understands, can meet us exactly where we are, and will sit in the trenches with us as long as needed. This is what I do. I help individuals manage chronic mental health conditions, and also assist clients who are having difficulty managing or resolving problems of everyday life. I will be your advocate, place your needs and comfort first, always, and provide you with a safe place to heal and resolve the problems that you are ready to tackle. We will also dive deeper into addressing the root causes in order to repair old wounds that continue to emerge in the present. We will work together on resolving these challenges to help you heal, feel more comfortable with yourself, and work towards a happier and more meaningful life.
