LCSW, 8 years of experience
Hi — hola. I’m Andrea Gonzalez, LCSW, and I’m really glad you’re here. I’ve spent years supporting youth and adults—and trauma has shaped me, too. I know how it can wire your nervous system toward overthinking, people-pleasing, perfectionism, and feeling “never enough.” I share this only to say: I understand from the inside, and I’ll keep the focus on you. My approach is warm, steady, and trauma-informed. We’ll work with your story and your nervous system using attachment-focused work, inner-child exploration, mindfulness, somatic practices, narrative work, and parts-informed care. I take a holistic view—mind, body, and heart—and, if it resonates, we can integrate spirituality and energy-based practices to deepen healing and self-trust. Together we’ll create a grounded space to unpack what’s heavy, regulate your system, and build practical tools: boundaries you can keep, kinder self-talk, and healthier relationship patterns. We’ll move at your pace while doing work that actually shifts things—so you can feel clearer, steadier, and more yourself. If you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, people-pleasing, identity shifts, or relationship patterns, I’m here to walk with you—con corazón y claridad.
In our first session, my goal is for you to feel welcomed and at ease. We’ll take time to talk about what’s bringing you in and what you’re hoping to get out of our work together—no pressure, just a chance to be real and honest. I’ll walk you through what therapy with me looks like, answer any questions, and go over things like confidentiality and structure so everything feels clear and comfortable. We’ll also do a simple grounding exercise to help you settle in and connect with yourself. From there, we’ll gently explore your goals and come up with a small, doable step you can take right away. You’ll leave not only knowing what to expect moving forward, but with something meaningful to support you between sessions.
I lead with a warm, steady presence so you feel truly safe and seen. My care is trauma- and somatic-informed and looks at the whole you—body, mind, heart—and the world you live in (family, culture, work, community). If it resonates, we can weave in spirituality. We start with your nervous system: noticing body cues, building simple grounding and breath routines, and practicing small, doable steps between sessions. I offer gentle, direct guidance so change feels possible—not overwhelming. Clients often report less anxiety, stronger boundaries, and deeper self-trust. (Bilingual: English/Español.) Highlights: - Warm, attuned presence; judgment-free space - Whole-person + whole-environment approach - Nervous-system first: grounding, breath, micro-practices you can use anywhere - Practical skills: boundaries, communication, thought reframes, and habit change - Gentle and direct—compassion with clear, actionable steps - Culturally responsive & bilingual; first-gen/bicultural friendly
If you’ve ever been told you “feel too much,” or you keep finding yourself in the same loop—overthinking, people-pleasing, perfectionism, carrying everyone else’s needs—you’re in the right place. As someone who has done my own trauma healing, I understand how survival strategies like fawning, freezing, hypervigilance, and over-responsibility show up in the body and in relationships. Trauma I commonly support: - Developmental/attachment trauma and childhood emotional neglect - Relational trauma (betrayal, inconsistent caregivers, boundary violations) - Intergenerational and first-gen/bicultural stress, including immigration-related stressors - Medical/health-related and birth trauma - Grief and loss, spiritual or community-based wounding What you might be navigating: - Anxiety, burnout, shame, or “never enough” pressure - Guilt around saying no, fear of conflict, codependency - High achievement on the outside, overwhelm on the inside - Repeating relationship patterns and identity shifts (parenthood, career changes) - Mind–body symptoms tied to stress/trauma (tension, sleep issues, gut reactivity, shut-down) How we’ll work: We’ll move at your pace with consent-based, trauma-informed care. First, stabilization: nervous-system regulation (grounding, orienting, somatic practices), everyday tools, and safety. Then, gentle processing and integration: attachment-focused repair, inner-child work, parts-informed exploration, narrative reframing, boundary practice, and self-compassion skills. If it resonates, we can also integrate spirituality and energy-based practices to deepen healing and self-trust. My style is warm, curious, and caring—never pushy. I’m not here to “fix” you; I’ll walk alongside you with honesty and compassion as you reconnect with your strength and voice. Bilingual sessions available (English/Spanish). You’re allowed to be messy. You’re allowed to take up space. And you’re absolutely allowed to heal—con corazón y claridad.
When early relationship wounds leave you feeling guarded or disconnected, attachment-based therapy offers a compassionate pathway back to safety and connection. I blend trauma-informed principles with gentle exploration of your earliest bonding experiences—helping you notice the patterns that keep you stuck and practice new, more secure ways of relating. In our sessions, you’ll be met with warmth and empathy as we move at your pace—uncovering old “security scripts,” experimenting with corrective relational exercises, and strengthening your inner sense of trust. If you’re ready to heal attachment injuries and build more fulfilling connections—with yourself and others—I’m here to support you every step of the way.
When life feels overwhelming and your mind won’t let you rest, mindfulness-based therapy offers a gentle pathway back to yourself. With seven years of guiding children, adults, and families, I blend trauma-informed care with simple breath and body-awareness practices, meeting you exactly where you are. In our sessions, you’ll experience genuine warmth and compassion as we move at your pace—exploring tools like mindful breathing, body scans, and grounding exercises that you can carry into everyday moments. If you’re ready to slow down, reconnect with your present experience, and cultivate lasting calm, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
I know how overwhelming it can feel when past hurts keep replaying in your mind and body—you’re not alone, and there is hope. Drawing on my own journey through complex trauma and seven years of guiding children, adults, and families, I blend trauma-informed care and somatic therapy to gently help you reconnect with safety in your body and clarity in your mind. In our work together, you’ll always be met with warmth, respect, and understanding as we move at your pace, explore practical skills, and build a toolkit you can rely on. If you’re ready to take that next step toward freedom and resilience, I’m here to walk beside you.
When the stories you tell yourself feel stuck in a loop of pain or self-doubt, narrative therapy can help you rewrite those chapters. With seven years of supporting children, adults, and families, I weave trauma-informed care into narrative techniques that gently separate you from unhelpful beliefs. In our sessions, you’ll be met with genuine warmth and curiosity as we explore the themes and voices shaping your life story—identifying strengths, honoring resilience, and crafting new, empowering narratives you choose to live by. If you’re ready to turn the page on old patterns and embrace a story of growth and possibility, I’m here to walk alongside you.
When your body carries the weight of stress and past wounds, somatic therapy offers a compassionate way to release tension and reconnect with your innate wisdom. Drawing on seven years of guiding children, adults, and families, I blend trauma-informed care with gentle, body-centered practices—like tracking physical sensations, guided movement, and grounding rituals—to help you uncover where emotions live and how to soothe them. In our sessions, you’ll be met with genuine warmth and safety as we move at your pace, honoring your body’s signals and co-creating tools you can use anytime you need to feel more present and at ease. If you’re ready to listen to your body’s story and find healing from the inside out, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
