Hello, I’m Ceci, the owner of Riding Waves Counseling PLLC. I have had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds who have experienced trauma and various life challenges. My work is rooted in compassion, cultural awareness, and respect for each individual’s unique journey. I am bilingual in English and Spanish, which allows me to offer therapy in the language that feels most comfortable and natural for you. I am deeply committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to heal. I believe therapy is a collaborative process, and my role is to walk alongside you as you navigate change, build resilience, and reconnect with your strengths.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is focused on getting to know each other in a calm and supportive way. We’ll review privacy and confidentiality, complete any necessary paperwork, and talk through information that will help me best support you. You’ll also have plenty of time to ask questions and share what’s on your mind. There’s no pressure and nothing overwhelming—just a relaxed, informative introduction designed to help you feel comfortable and confident as we begin working together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths are reliability, flexibility, and responsibility. I value your time and make it a priority to show up consistently and fully present for our sessions. Clients often appreciate knowing they can depend on me for support, follow-through, and a steady therapeutic presence. I strive to build a trusting, respectful, and collaborative relationship so you feel supported throughout your therapeutic journey.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

If you’ve taken time to reflect and feel ready to begin this work, you are not alone—and I am here to support you. I work with clients who are ready to explore healing, growth, and change, even if they are unsure where to start. I offer a compassionate and supportive space where we move at your pace. Together, we’ll ride the waves of healing, resilience, and meaningful growth, honoring your courage and commitment to yourself along the way.

My treatment methods

Trauma Informed Care

I approach my work through a trauma-informed lens, recognizing the widespread impact of trauma and its influence on behavior, relationships, and engagement in care. I focus on creating a safe, supportive environment grounded in trust, transparency, and collaboration.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I use a person-centered approach that prioritizes each individual’s unique experiences, strengths, and goals. I foster a supportive, nonjudgmental environment grounded in empathy, respect, and collaboration, allowing clients to guide the pace and focus of care. In here they take the lead.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is a modality I used to treat trauma symptoms for teens and adults. This modality allows the client to understand and challenge unhelpful beliefs related to trauma. Through structured sessions, I support clients in identifying “stuck points,” examining thought patterns, and developing more balanced perspectives.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is an evidence-based modality I use for children to process trauma. This structured approach integrates psychoeducation, emotional regulation, cognitive processing, and gradual trauma narration, while actively involves caregivers when appropriate.

Somatic

I integrate somatic experiencing to help clients build awareness of bodily sensations and understand how trauma is held in the body. By supporting nervous system regulation and grounding skills, I help clients reconnect with their bodies in a safe and empowering way. This approach enhances emotional regulation, resilience, and recovery.
