Therapy was never my goal. Over the years I learned that I love helping people and have experienced a lot of challenges, losses, job changes, etc. I have a lot of experience overcoming and moving forward. If you are ready to make changes and reach your full potential, I would love to help you do that. Let's get started on your new path to health and wellbeing.
My focus is reconciliation. Healing is often achieved through us becoming reconciled with self and/or others. It can be a process that allows us to identify and modify our thoughts and behaviors. We are all a work in progress and rightly so as circumstances are constantly changing. I believe that each person should have an opportunity to express themselves in a safe, nurturing, judgement free zone. As we seek to gain an understanding of self and others, often we experience a shift in our processing. If you are stuck or it feels like you are spinning out of control like a hamster on a wheel, let’s talk about “it”.

Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensed in Florida, Oregon, Kansas (LSCSW), New Hampshire, and Texas. I received my Master's degree from Louisiana State University and have been practicing for 9 years. I help adults find ways to heal their anxiety and depression, help them become more self-aware, and to stop negative thinking, so they can become the best versions of themselves. I help clients stay in the present moment (utilizing other techniques) as this can be very difficult to do in our busy lives today.
I became a social worker because I want to help people feel better about themselves and their lives. I no longer wanted to be "just an employee" and work for a large organization. I wanted to use my strengths and abilities to help others because it would be challenging and rewarding. Therapy is a form of "self-care", and we will work together as a team to address your specific challenges, goals, and needs. I am dedicated, passionate, and caring.
I also conduct emotional support animal evaluations in Florida, Texas, New Hampshire, Kansas, and Oregon. If you would like more information about me or getting an emotional support animal evaluation completed, please visit my website at instillinghopepsychotherapy.com.
I am a LPC and Professional School Counselor with seven years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, family conflicts, motivation, self-esteem, problem solving, goal setting, and coping with life changes. I’ve spent the majority of my counseling career working with teens and young adults. I have counseled teens from all backgrounds with a wide range of presenting issues. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I’m here to support and empower you in that journey.
I approach clients with the an open mindset, looking to explore what the client needs and what they want for themselves. I always want my clients to know there is no judgement from me in their decisions, EVER. I view everyone's mistakes as us just being human and having a human experience. This practice of examining our human journey and what motivates us to do the things we do is extended to myself, my clients and my children/family. I often attempt to have the practice of asking myself "why did I do that? Did I do that because of this or because I was feeling blank?" I think it is important to help others get to the place where they ask themselves the same type of questions. We're all here just having human experiences!
I work with clients who want to improve the way they experience life. The desire for better relationships with themselves and with others, and to gain a sense of purpose and meaning. I’ve always been interested in what drives people and believe that we can usually discover what is best for ourselves if we slow down, take the time to think things through, talk about it with a person we trust, and express the feelings we have in healthy ways—even the negative ones we may try to avoid. I use a number of therapeutic modalities in my practice, which connect thoughts to feelings and feelings to thoughts, enabling my clients to change and grow in the positive direction that they might envision for themselves. I work with clients who have struggled with addiction, anger, anxiety, depression, relationship separation, internal conflict and conflict with others, grief and loss, and other transitions and adjustment issues. I have completed Gottman trainings, as well as Emotion-Focused Therapy, which offers a structured approach and an emotional map for couples or individuals to learn how successful couples make their relationships last and how to handle conflict in a way that prevents damage to the relationship and helps them feel better connected to their partner. I am also trained in EMDR, a therapy designed to help a person unlock their nervous system to recover from trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and other problems that can take hold.

My service includes a broad range of ages and issues with a primary focus on children and family dynamics. I'm a Licensed Professional Counsellor-Supervisor (LPC-S) based in Texas. Hello, I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in the states of Texas and Tennessee with 30 years of counseling and ministry experience. I began as a minister of the Gospel in the Southern Baptist tradition in 1993 working with the homeless to overcome the struggles of addiction and hopelessness in North Carolina and Tennessee. From there, I became a case manager in a rural oupatient behavioral health clinic helping the chronically mentally ill live independently outside of the institutional settings. As my family of five children grew, my wife encouraged me to join the military in 2007 and for the next 13 years we served alongside our Soldiers and their Families as a chaplain. There, I learned through experience how to work through the stress of multiple transitions, the unyeilding demands for time and energy, and the unjust nature of toxic environments. I learned how to support those who wanted to strengthen themselves and their relationships in these environments and to ultimately be at peace with who they are and who they want to be.
As I have matured in my training and become licensed in marriage and family therapy, I have found that I now specialize in using Solution Focused therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help individuals identify their strengths and the beliefs that are guiding their behavior. With this knowledge, people can begin to choose who they want to be.

’ve felt called to become a therapist since I was nine years old, and that sense of purpose has stayed with me ever since. I began my career in a community mental health setting, where I worked closely with individuals experiencing severe mental illness and learned the importance of practical, real-life coping skills. That experience continues to shape my approach today—I focus on helping clients build insight, develop tools they can actually use, and feel more confident navigating their relationships and daily lives.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy slowing things down and staying grounded through gardening, crocheting, and camping. I’m also a big reader—especially when it comes to romance novels. Family is a central part of my life, and I value the many roles I hold as a wife, mother, stepmother, and grandmother. Raising both boys and girls—including twins—has given me a wide range of life experiences that help me connect with clients from all kinds of backgrounds.

I’m often looking for "the funny" in the moment and the world around me. I greatly enjoy sarcasm, snark, and satire. I'm fairly casual but have been told I "Clean up well", and clients have told me in the past they appreciate that I do not come across as "stuffy".

Clinically, I work with a foundation of Solution Focus and Systemic Therapy, with attributes of Narrative, Structural and/or Strategic.
*** I do not provide animal support letters or ESA documentation, disability-related paperwork, and fit for work evaluation documentation. Additionally, court-mandated evaluations, divorce or custody agreement related paperwork would be out of the scope of my practice, therefore is not something I engage in at this time.
