Hey everyone! I am here to help with providing ways to get started in developing a new and happier you. I graduated from the University of Alabama with a Masters Degree in Counseling and I am also a certified rehabilitation counselor, having worked with youth and adults with learning disabilities. In addition I have a post-graduate certificate in Addiction Studies. I am a believer that if the mind and body are focused on goals, obstacles can be overcome, as you become more confident and powerful. We will begin our journey together as we work in small steps toward developing your new goals. These will always be your goals and I am here to help guide you toward them. My work begins by listening to you and then we will summarize what your expectations are. Then I will reflect to you what you have communicated. I will tell you what we can expect to change and how we will be able to make that change happen. My therapeutic techniques are driven by your needs and how you will respond to the new direction. No one said life would not send us off the pretty path that we all want to remain on. It happens. I can't think of anyone who has not had obstacles to overcome. I specialize in helping people overcome rejection, low self-esteem, work issues, disabilities, anxiety, living in the past, how to forgive themselves, addictions, how to stop living your life as the victim, and how to love and accept yourself and others.

Hi this is Dhan! When you need a therapist, you need someone who can talk to you and listen to you wholly. I believe in meeting a person-in-place approach and building a rapport from there. You are taking time to read all this content as you might be trying to find help to manage your stress, anxiety, depression or trauma and thinking about who to turn to. Sometimes, you may be looking for someone to offer you choices, clarify issues or provide guidance to lead you on your way. I’m here to provide you with a safe space and listen to you non-judgmentally. I have extensive experience working with clients of different backgrounds and I am trained in most evidence-based mental health treatment modalities. Some mental health symptoms are culture-specific and you may want to explore them from your cultural perspective. My life-long goal is to provide culturally and linguistically relevant counseling and therapies. I have helped individuals and families to navigate through difficult situations with acculturation, adjustment and reducing barriers to access, manage and treat mental health. I will be using a collaborative approach to explore and utilize your strengths.

I take a holistic perspective with my clients to address the health of body, mind, and spirit. I believe that a solid therapeutic relationship between client and therapist is a crucial part of the healing process, and that techniques and therapy approaches must “fit” the client in order to be effective—there is no “one size fits all” therapy. My goal, as a counselor and therapist, is to deeply understand my client, and when this happens we are able to identify areas of life that need to be changed, and ways of going about doing that. Therapy is a collaborative process between a trained therapist and a client who wants to change.

I love what I do as a Licensed Clinical Therapist. To me, there's no better job than showing people how to use their minds to work for them instead of against them by getting past their mental blocks and past traumas so they don't have to suffer any longer. Specifically, I work with two groups - couples and parents. Couples that aren't communicating very well that have lost that once special connection with their partner and parents struggling with their children's behaviors.

If you are overwhelmed, lost and feeling down, I would like to talk to you about how therapy can benefit you. I use a person-centered, empowerment-focused approach. I believe everyone has strengths and potential to emerge on the other side, given unconditional positive regard. I strive to create a radically safe space in which clients feel seen, heard and validated. My goal to collaborate with you to explore what safe space looks like or means to you in today's world. I meet where the client is, and together we appreciate their needs and know that their needs and feelings do matter. I do require weekly appointment for new clients for 1-2 months depending on the severity of presenting problems. It is difficult to build therapeutic rapport, complete assessments without meeting weekly at least for a month. We may discuss biweekly sessions, and new clients would benefit most from weekly, long-term therapy services in my practice. I specialize in complex PTSD, trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship issues and women's issues. I practice culturally responsive treatment, and intersectionality guides my practice. I am certified in DBT and tailor treatment based on the client's unique presenting concerns and needs, drawing from CBT, DBT, coaching techniques, Solution Focused Approach, Motivational Interviewing, Internal Family System and body-based approach. I am currently available on the Zoom Pro platform only. I do not work with court-mandated cases, or custody cases involving law. Hello and welcome to my practice. I’m a clinical social worker, which means that I passed a national exam, authorizing me to do psychotherapy after having earned a master's degree in social work (MSW). I listen to you to facilitate your listening to yourself. Let's talk and I'll explain. I work exclusively with people in their 20s and 30s who are discovering and creating their direction in life. Please disregard below, Age Groups (18 - 64) as this how the system is programmed and lacks your desire to grow and change! I understand the overarching goal of psychotherapy as strengthening the capacity for choice - of being in charge of your relationship with your thoughts, feelings and how you show up in the world. Your subjective experience of daily life is our territory. I’ve internalized ethics and theories so that I’m able to be present with you, your voice, your intonation, your expression. I've had scads of post-graduate education and continue to be an active learner. Please note: I charge $175 for appointments canceled within a 24hour window of the appointment; however, Monday appointments must be canceled by 5pm, Thursday. Let’s lean in; the way out is through.

Seeking counseling can be a overwhelming and anxiety producing experience beyond "the why" of what brought you here. Building a relationship of trust to be vulnerable with a complete stranger is one of the hardest things we can do as humans. Chronic stress from past experiences and intergenerational trauma/stress are often hidden or very present parts of ourselves often creating a tangled web of connection within and attachments with others. In partnership with my clients, I assist them in emerging from within themselves with an increased positive connections, self image, self forgiveness, and a focus on their life goals. When we work together the aim is to assist you in finding balance, clarity and focus for your life goals through a lens of healing.

I have worked in the treatment since i was 36 and have 35 years of experience. My early experience was in the drug and alcohol and relapse prevention field. During that time i attended the Gestalt Institute in Cleveland, Ohio where I took 4 years of intense training. This lead me to find that therapy is not a method for me to figure out the client but a means for the client to gain greater self-awareness in facing their own life aspirations and struggles. I place focus on clients’ somatic awareness, especially breath, so being more in their body so they can try on new physical and intellectual styles in facing their world. I have a lot of knowledge about what is called the 12 step process and have melded together spirituality and religion in my own life. Prior to being a counselor/ therapist i taught school, painted steel bridges and other structures, and was a machinist at a large steel company, that like the many in our area have since closed their shops.

I have an LPC and an LMFT and have been seeing clients since 1996. I have extensive training in helping people who are going through or have experienced narcissistic abuse and any form of childhood trauma, this includes verbal and emotional abuse, family addictions, or any early childhood experience that would cause one to feel unsafe. I am also experienced in the treatment of anxiety, worry and mood concerns and work with addictions, obsessive compulsive behaviors and any poor coping skills or core beliefs that were developed in order to manage these stressors. I use practices primarily focused on somatic and cognitive therapy but also utilize acceptance commitment therapy, internal family systems, mindfulness and am solution focused. I use homework and assignments aimed at regulating the nervous system in order to repair the fight/flight/freeze response that is often stuck on due to a continuous history of a variety of life stressors (trauma). This trapped and stored trauma continues to trigger the nervous system to respond in ways where we continue to feel unsafe, even after the threats have passed. By working with the nervous system to release this trapped trauma and find safety, we can then have the opportunity to respond to the world differently.

Welcome! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and have been providing counseling in a multitude of settings ranging from Residential, Hospitals and private practice for over the past 20 years. I have experience working with individuals struggling with negative self-talk, low self-esteem, mood instability, challenging irrational beliefs and anxiety/depression. The last 10 years, I have been working in a private practice setting with the primary diagnoses of anxiety/depression. I use the treatment modalities of client-centered approach, solution focused therapy as well as cognitive behavioral therapy.   Do you sometimes feel alone or sad? Find yourself thinking about things you want to do to feel better, but you just can't get yourself to get up and do them? Do you often worry about things that most likely will never happen or fear social situations? Let's face it, the struggles we face today can be very difficult, and everyone needs someone to talk to. I believe we all deserve a chance to feel our best and overcome life's challenges and that is what we will do together. As your therapist, I will work with you to reduce the stress that comes along with many of life's stressors and build a therapeutic trusting relationship. We will take those and turn them into positive changes that you will feel more secure within yourself.
