As a therapist, the most important aspect of therapy is working together to create goals for therapy and create a path for meaningful change. Change is an element that is uncomfortable to most people, but by working together, we can establish lasting change through the use of each individuals strengths and by providing support. My approach is practical, I work from a cognitive perspective using cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical therapy, exposure response prevention, and positive psychology.

Hi, I'm Marjorie, an experienced clinical social worker, licensed in the states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. My specialties include working with adults from varied backgrounds, identities, and cultures who suffer from symptoms of depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, and/or mood disorders. There may be times in your life when you are struggling. Perhaps you are overwhelmed with anxiety or depression which is interfering with your day-to-day living and/or work. Perhaps you are experiencing unhappiness in important relationships, or you are resorting to unhealthy ways of coping such as self-isolation, disordered eating, self-harm activities, or other self-sabotaging behaviors. You may generally feel "less than," or feel as if you don't fit in, feel conflicted about your identity, feel debilitated by worry, fears or depressive symptoms, and/or may be suffering from loss of significant relationships. The "work" of therapy can offer relief from painful symptoms and conflicts while addressing your particular patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, particularly those that are holding you back from a more productive and fulfilling life. My goal is to listen and work with you to understand your unique experiences, identify patterns of underlying thoughts and feelings about yourself and others, examine how your past may have informed your present, and provide a safe space for you to explore yourself. Together we will identify those patterns that are not working for you to find strategies, personal to you, to overcome them. My therapeutic modalities include Cognitive Behavioral and Psychodynamic approaches and often include DBT practices such as mindfulness and guided meditation techniques.

How much of your life is spent waiting to feel confident enough to live it? I’m Fred, a licensed clinical social worker who works with adults struggling with anxiety, addiction, relationship difficulties, and major life stress. My practice is direct, collaborative, and practical. I draw primarily from Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other evidence-based approaches. A lot of people come to therapy believing they need more confidence, more clarity, or more certainty before they can move forward. Often, confidence is built differently: by learning to act, adapt, and make meaningful decisions even while doubt, anxiety, and difficult emotions are still present. Together, we’ll work on changing the patterns that keep you stuck and building the flexibility and confidence to move toward the life you want.

I have 32 years of experience providing counseling. I use cognitive behavioral therapy, stressing that what we think determines what we feel and what we do. For many reasons, people learn unrealistic or destructive thoughts that cause them problems in their lives. Therapy works towards more realistic thinking, and avoiding old and destructive thinking. As I like to say, "therapy is a conversation with a destination," and realistic thinking is that destination. While I am a Christian, I am not trained as a Christian Counselor. I am a "Counselor who is a Christian." My training is secular, and I regularly see people or all faiths, or none at all. I do not offer court ordered services, nor do I do assessments for custody, or any other legal purpose. Unfortunately, I cannot accept Medicare, or Medicare based plans. The world is changing, and more and more people are reaching out. I am seeing more men that have been in abusive relationships. There are also more people dealing with loss. Coming to my office is not like going to a big mental health clinic where you just another number on a spreadsheet. In my care, you are a person, and you'll be treated like one.

Hi, I'm Cory Ian Shafer, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with my Masters in Counseling. I have been practicing professionally in the counseling field since 2005 and have worked in the mental health field since 1999. I approach therapy primarily as a Jungian-Existentialist, however, I also realize that many clients may need different approaches to achieve their success, and because of that I also incorporate an eclectic approach towards therapy in addition to my primary school of thought, therefore I can utilize many different modalities and approaches of therapy depending on the what you need in your sessions. My specializations are working with anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction and grief counseling. I also like to write a little bit and have published a few books concerning the human condition. On the personal side of things I lead a simple and quiet life, where I enjoy reading history, science fiction and philosophy books, playing the bass guitar, listening to music, traveling and amateur astronomy. www.coryianshaferlpc.com

"One step, one step." So, this is a phrase I often say. I use it as a reminder that we will move forward, heal, achieve our goals one step, one moment at a time. If we feel or see ourselves slip back....we reset. We move forward again one step, one step. Wellness has always been a focus in my life's work. My expertise has allowed me to work with individuals from the African Diaspora, immigrant communities, various cultures, military and those diagnosed with chronic illness. I use a holistic approach, integrating modalities such as a Client-Centered approach, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused and Mindfulness to achieve your goals and build an empowered, stronger and healthier sense of self. I believe that collaborating with you as an individual, learning your strengths, challenges, and identifying key coping skills together we move towards your best strategies for wellness. With over 15 years of experience in the mental health field, I am passionate about supporting adults and couples as they navigate life’s transitions and pursue meaningful growth. Whether you are a college student or recent graduate adjusting to a new season of life, an individual facing anxiety or depression, or a couple preparing for marriage or working to strengthen your relationship, I strive to provide guidance that feels both supportive and practical. My Christian faith shapes my personal values; however, I work with people from all backgrounds and beliefs. Faith-based perspectives are incorporated into counseling only if a client specifically desires it. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where you feel heard, understood, and supported. Life transitions—whether expected or unexpected—can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to navigate them alone. Together, we can explore the challenges you are facing and work toward the emotional and personal goals that matter most to you. I have experience working with adults experiencing life changes, including college and post-college transitions, relationship challenges, marriage and premarital preparation, and parenting. I also support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, and stress that often accompany these seasons of change. My background as a behavioral specialist in community mental health allows me to effectively support adults diagnosed with ADHD or autism spectrum disorder, as well as parents raising children with these diagnoses. In my work with couples, I draw from my experience as a trained Prepare/Enrich facilitator to help partners strengthen communication, navigate conflict, and build healthier, more connected relationships. When working with individuals, I primarily use a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach to address concerns such as anxiety, depression, and life transitions. My focus is on equipping you with practical tools and strategies so you can move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and resilience.

Welcome-I’m glad you’re here. If you’re ready to move beyond old patterns and cultivate a life defined by authenticity, self-trust, and purpose, this is a space for you. My work as a therapist centers on helping you understand the deeper experiences and relational patterns that shape how you see yourself, navigate relationships, and move through the world. Together, we’ll look beyond the surface to uncover what may be holding you back, creating space for greater clarity, intentional growth, and meaningful change. I believe that understanding your story is an essential part of transforming it. Through our work, we’ll explore your experiences with curiosity and compassion, strengthen your relationship with yourself, and develop healthier ways of connecting with others. Therapy with me is more than a place to process your experiences. It’s an opportunity to deepen your self-awareness, gain meaningful perspective, and develop practical tools that support you beyond our sessions. Our work will build on your existing strengths while helping you cultivate the insight and confidence to make choices that align with your values and the life you envision. You already possess the capacity for growth. My role is to help you access it, trust your inner wisdom, and move forward with greater intention. This is where you begin to reclaim your peace and reconnect with yourself. As you learn to slow down and feel more grounded, you can develop a quiet sense of inner authority—a confidence that allows you to honor your needs, establish healthy boundaries, trust your voice, and navigate life with greater ease and assurance. You don’t have to remain defined by what you’ve experienced. You can create a life that reflects who you are, what matters to you, and who you are becoming.

Hello there! Thank you for stopping by, and congratulations on taking the first step towards a more self-improved you. I have been in the mental health field for almost 15 years, practicing as an LPC for almost 3 years. Counseling can be scary, but being open to change and vulnerability shows great courage. I have always been passionate about people, and helping others, showing compassionate and empathy. As a valued listener, people often seek me out when they have experienced personal issues, trauma and stressors. Through your journey, I will provide a safe atmosphere in order to begin to face the complexities you are facing, help change your narrative to a more helpful narrative, and we will work together, to achieve your identified goal and success. In therapy, we work to understand yourself in new ways that feel more accepting, empowering, and extensive.

Hi. I'm Bill. I've been working in this field since 2003 treating adults experiencing symptoms related to the anxiety disorders, depressed mood, identity and self-concept difficulties, relationship problems, life-transition difficulties, and traumatic memories. These difficulties along with other related topics that may surface during a therapy session. My therapy approach is quite straightforward, collaborative, and non-judgmental. It's structured to help you develop a healthier and happier life. We begin by identifying the circumstances that prompted you to seek therapy. Then I help you to develop skills and solutions tailored for you to help you move forward toward that healthier life. It's a collaborative approach. You and I work together through this process. From this perspective, listening is the most-important part of communication. When I genuinely listen to your experiences and concerns without judgment or distraction, I can respond appropriately to your concerns. "Right Speech begins with Right Listening." PLEASE BOOK APPOINTMENTS ON THE HOUR. THANKS.

I’ve been providing direct therapy since 2008 and am currently licensed to practice in three states. My approach is eclectic and client-centered, grounded in the belief that each individual processes and learns differently—so therapy should reflect that. Whether short-term or long-term, I’m here to support you in gaining new insight, building confidence, and moving forward in your life and relationships.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
