Hello! It's a pleasure to meet you! As a seasoned Masters Level Board-Certified Music Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor based in Pennsylvania, I bring over 20 years of experience working across diverse levels of care, including inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient settings. I am a strong advocate for the transformative power of therapy, and I commend you for taking the courageous step of seeking therapy. Understanding the vulnerability that comes with this process, my aim is to establish a safe, non-judgmental environment where you feel at ease exploring your thoughts. Building a strong, trusting relationship is crucial, and I am committed to listening and communicating openly with you. I believe it is important to provide my clients with the skills that they need to be able to manage their lives more than they were able to before counseling.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Clients can expect their first session to be a question/answer session. I will be asking questions in order to obtain as much information as possible about you to help determine the compatibility for this particular counseling relationship. I also encourage all of my clients to ask me questions about my experience, style of counseling or anything that would assist them in feeling more comfortable working with me as long as it is appropriate. I will also go over the counseling process, as well as the expectations for therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest Strength as a provider is my 20+ years of experience working with all different age groups in an array of care settings. With my combined expertise as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Music Therapist, I deliver a tailored approach to our sessions, incorporating music to facilitate emotional expression, regulation, and creativity, and ultimately foster improved communication and personal development.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

My approach with CBT teaches my patients to challenge their negative thought patterns and turn less often to unhelpful behaviors. In learning these strategies my patients can significantly improve their mood and the way they respond to challenging/stressful situations in their lives.

Psychoeducation

I think that it is very important that each and everyone one of my patients understand their diagnosis. Too often diagnoses are given without a lot of education. During session I like to create a learning experience that helps my patients understand their mental health, the challenges they may face, and how to better cope with them.

Trauma Informed Care

I take pride in providing all of my patients with the best care possible which includes creating a trauma informed environment. The framework for my patients' sessions is based on my knowledge and understanding of how trauma has affected their lives. I establish an environment that promotes safety (physical and emotional), trust, choice, collaboration, and empowerment.

Integrative

I am a board Certified Masters Level Music Therapist and take pride in being able to incorporate creative arts into my patients sessions

Grief Therapy

Dealing with loss can be one of the most difficult phases of life. Through psychotherapy patients are better able to cope with the emotional, physical, social, and spiritual responses they experience to the loss. Grief therapy allows my patients to work through the loss and have a better understanding of the 7 stages of grief, how to best navigate through them, and being to heal.
