Have you been wondering if your current challenges are due to past traumatic life events? Do you struggle in relationships? If so, I may be the Therapist for you. I specialize in trauma therapy for teenagers and adults.
Many people often think trauma is only caused by violent crimes, acts of physical abuse, or natural disasters. They may also think because trauma happened a long time ago, it does not affect them in the present. These are a few of the myths about trauma. There are many types of traumas such as the sudden or unexpected death of a loved one, bullying, retaliation in the workplace, neglect from parents, infidelity, intimate partner violence, the witnessing of domestic violence and more.
If you or your teen is struggling with anxiety, depression, or life stressors, therapy with me can help with positive changes to strengthen self-esteem and confidence.
I am trained in EMDR and other trauma therapy approaches. My years of professional experience as a teacher and counselor, along with my lived experiences as a Black person allow me to provide empathetic regard while helping clients from multicultural backgrounds.

I help professionals in recovery who are carrying more than anyone realizes. Many of my clients are high-achieving people who have spent years holding everything together on the outside while privately struggling with alcohol, substances, compulsive behaviors, anxiety, or burnout. They’re people who have been depended on—at home, at work, and in their families—and they’re tired of performing, hiding, or white-knuckling their way through life.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with years of experience in addiction recovery, trauma, and life transitions, I bring a grounded, practical, and compassionate approach. My work is deeply influenced by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), values-based living, and helping clients build a life that feels aligned rather than pressured or chaotic.
I understand that asking for help—especially as a professional—comes with unique challenges: reputation concerns, workplace stress, perfectionism, shame, fear of consequences, and relationships strained by years of coping alone. My role is not to judge or lecture, but to offer a private, steady space where you can talk openly, regain clarity, and take meaningful steps toward a healthier, more peaceful life.
Whether you’re navigating early sobriety, long-term recovery, career demands, relationship stress, or a sense that you’ve lost yourself, I’m here to walk with you—not as an authority figure, but as someone who respects the courage it takes to show up.
If you’re ready for therapy that’s confidential, respectful, and tailored to the realities of being a professional in recovery, I’d be honored to support you.
My name is Joel, and I’m so glad you've reached out for support. It's common to feel anxious, uncomfortable, or hesitant starting therapy. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, based in Pennsylvania, and I have experience working with a diverse range of clients. My approach is client-centered, and I am dedicated to tailoring our sessions to meet your unique needs and goals.

I'm committed to getting to know you and understanding what's brought you to therapy and what matters to you. Together, we’ll explore ways to move forward that feel right for you. This is a safe, non-judgmental, confidential space. and we will go at your pace and timing. I look forward to getting to know you and working together.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and I earned my Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling and Psychology from Chestnut Hill College, and my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Temple University. I have experience in the behavioral health field working in community mental health, inpatient psychiatric rehabilitation, inpatient addictions withdrawal management and rehabilitation, and hospice care.
As a former school counselor with over 30 years of experience and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), I have dedicated my career to supporting individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, substance use, and difficulties in achieving academic success. I am passionate about getting to the underlying cause(s) of your concerns. I congratulate you on wanting to take the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life and I am happy to help support and empower you in that process.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I use dogs in my office while doing therapy. Please schedule telehealth or advise in advance if you are not comfortable in an office with animals. They do provide therapeutic support to clients and have been part of my practice for some time. I hold licenses in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida and specialty certification as a Certified Advanced Drug & Alcohol Counselor and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I am a firm believer in everything that happens creates the person. I am a whole life counselor and work with people to explore what it would take to move past the difficult times in life.
I take the time to get to know my clients and have many clients who have been with me for years. That doesn't mean someone will see me every week for the rest of their life. It means client know I am available when they have need. I do have clients who have seen me weekly for years not because they are dependent on me but because they have found benefit in processing their life regularly.
I have had a successful personal practice for years and can offer clients the space and reverence to unpack the most unpleasant things to reorder them in a way they no longer can cause harm as they once did. There is no perfect childhood and it is likely families do the best they can and it may not have filled the needs of their child.
I am happy to take as much time as needed to work through the problem as you understand it.

deeply influenced my approach to therapy, reinforcing the importance of compassion, attunement, and the
healing power of being truly witnessed.
In therapy, I strive to create a space where you feel safe, seen, and supported. I draw from psychodynamic,
narrative, and trauma-informed approaches, but at the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship
itself. Whether you are navigating grief, transition, or uncertainty, I walk alongside you as you find meaning,
connection, and a way forward that honors your experience.

Together, we work as a team to manage symptoms and guide you toward becoming the best version of yourself.
Hello! I have always enjoyed helping others for as long as I can remember as early as age 9. I love to see their responses in the learning process. I have experienced trauma, witnessed violence, anxiety, have been in an unhealthy alcoholic relationship and have been a sensitive being my entire life not understanding why.
My saving Grace has always been movement. I loved the way it made me feel-free and calm, and movement has always been part of my life even during 4 pregnancies and keeping up with my 4 children, and now my grandchildren. Over time, I was introduced to mindfulness, stress reduction and relaxation (which I didn’t realized how much I needed) and Yoga. This allowed me to calm my mind and focus.
My career goal was Physical Education teaching and when I graduated (after have 4 children), teacher jobs were scarce. I was introduced to Behavioral Health and here I am now, 25 years later.

As a clinical social worker with over 30 years of experience, I can serve as your guide whether you are facing chronic painful feelings such as anxiety or depression, a major life transition, or a recent or past life altering trauma. Working with me, you will learn new perspectives and skills to build a firm foundation for mental health and wellbeing. I have broad experience in mental health and addictions. I believe psychotherapy is a great deal more than "just talking." I earned my BA in Asian Languages and Civilizations at Amherst College in Massachusetts and my Master of Social Work (MSW) at Boston University. I lived in Japan for about 10 years.
