You might be wondering if therapy is really worth it—whether it can actually help, and if it’s worth the effort it takes to find the right therapist, commit to sessions, and face difficult thoughts or past experiences. That uncertainty makes sense. Therapy asks for both courage and vulnerability, and it’s okay to feel unsure. In many ways, that uncertainty can be the first step toward meaningful change. My approach starts with understanding you- who you are, what you’re dealing with, and how to best organize what you need. From there, we choose a direction that fits. Depending on your goals and comfort level, I may draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), or a more reflective, person-centered approach. The goal is to keep the work both meaningful and useful. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 15 years of experience and a graduate of Temple University. I own and operate a private practice in Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, and work with clients across the lifespan, from young children to older adults. My areas of focus include depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, trauma, and related concerns. It’s also important to me to be responsive and get back to you quickly. I understand how much it can take to reach out for therapy, and I don’t take that step lightly!
First sessions are meant to feel relaxed and focused on getting to know you and what brings you to therapy. I take time to understand your past experiences with therapy- what worked, what didn’t- and the symptoms you’re currently dealing with, especially what makes them feel distressing for you. I also pay close attention to what matters most to you and the direction you naturally seem to be moving toward. Even in the first session, I can often begin to identify potential goals, even if they’re not fully clear yet. From there, we work together to create a practical, personalized plan to help move you from where you are now to where you’d like to be. Along the way, we check in regularly to stay on track and revisit your symptoms over time to track progress and make adjustments as needed.

One of the strengths of my practice is the ability to tailor therapy to what each person actually needs. Some people want things to feel clear, practical, and actionable. Others are looking for something deeper and more reflective. I pay close attention to that and adjust my approach so it feels useful- not overwhelming or too simplistic. At the core, I believe effective therapy helps you create distance from the problem so you can understand it with more clarity and less judgment. From that space, real insight and change become possible. My work is grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Together, this approach helps you better understand your thoughts and patterns while also connecting to a stronger sense of meaning and purpose in your life, guided by your values and goals.
