I have had the privilege of working with with a broad range of clients for over 6 years in the counseling field. This experience has been beneficial and rewarding in my journey of understanding and providing strong clinical guidance towards a wide range of the population. While I am rooted in existential-humanistic theory, I love to take a multi-modal and flexible approach to psychotherapy, so that I can better serve each individuals unique psychological and emotional needs.
I became a therapist because therapy changed my life. Experiencing mental illness caused struggle and emotional suffering, but lead me to seek help. The support I found brought solace and healing, and eventually opened doors that led to becoming a therapist. It is such a meaningful experience to reach those who are now where I once was. Over the years I had opportunities to work in many settings, including medical and mental health hospitals, intensive outpatient, and residential addiction treatment centers, and now private practice.

Reaching out is a meaningful first step— I am glad you are here. For me, therapy is about creating a genuine connection where we can talk openly, make sense of things and figure out what comes next based on what matters to you. After 25 years working in behavioral health with adults from many different backgrounds, I've learned there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. I value genuine connection, collaboration and even a little humor when it fits the moment. I also understand that life doesn't always follow the plan we had in mind and sometimes we need support navigating the chapters we didn't expect.

Hi, I'm Jill. Thanks for stopping by. I've been licensed in Ohio since 2002. I earned my bachelor's from Ohio University in Athens and my master's from The Ohio State University in Columbus. I have experience in both mental health and addiction treatment. I truly love what I do! I like to bring a positive, solution-focused approach to therapy. I understand how hard it may be to take that first step to reach out for help. I want to hear your story and what has been going on with you so that you feel heard and supported. I provide education about how the brain and the body work together (and against each other at times!) Life can be overwhelming-you don't have to go through it alone. Let's get started today.
I try to provide my clients with assistance on determining what their primary goals are in therapy and what problems are standing in their way. My ideal client is someone who recognizes that they want to change something in their lives that is preventing them from moving forward. Ideally, they are self-motivated (not engaging in therapy because a family member or loved one is pressuring them to change). In addition, the client is willing to work on their problems outside of the therapy session and put into practice the skills they have learned. My approach combines both empathy and practicality. While I value good rapport with a client I also want to provide them with the tools they need to better their lives.
My approach is down to earth. I meet you where you are. I listen for what you do not say. I strike a balance between accepting you just as you are but gently motivating you to implement sustainable change that you can feel proud of. I am comfortable in spaces that feel embarrassing. I bring life experience into the therapy session in the way in which I show up for you.
It takes courage to reach out for support, and I feel honored to be trusted with my clients’ stories. I strive to create a safe, compassionate space where we’ll work at your pace to build insight, resilience, and lasting change. I have a background in both medical social work and residential mental health, allowing me to build rapport quickly so you can feel safe in our sessions.

My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic and dialectal behavioral. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. My hours are 8 am to 2pm Monday through Friday . I have different hours for sessions and those include nights and weekends. Please visit my schedule. I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker based in Ohio and have been in the field since 2013. I graduated from Miami University in 2013 with my bachelor's degree in psychology and worked as a case manager for a year, assisting adults with managing mental health symptoms. I also helped with medication management, and assisted with supporting them in daily living skills, before getting my master's degree in social work in 2016. Once I graduated with my Master's, I then worked at a community based correctional facility for 3 years as a mental health and addiction specialist. I completed diagnostic assessments and facilitated individual and group therapy sessions for mental health and addiction. From there, I began working at an inpatient behavioral health hospital and assisted patients there with acute mental health needs and helped to provide referrals for outpatient treatment. Since 2020, I have been working with clients doing individual therapy and have been growing my private practice. I find it rewarding to be able to work with clients long-term and get to know them as a person while meeting each individual where they are; what their struggles are, what their successes are, see progress they make in different areas of their lives, and develop a rapport that is respectful and supportive. I have been able to gain a great deal of experience over my 13 years with a very diverse background through promotion and advancement, in the mental health field, and those experiences help me to navigate my therapeutic approach to assist with being able to better serve clients while we are working together.

They appreciate the journey of self-discovery and are eager to gain insights that can lead to meaningful transformation in their life.
