Hi, I’m Rob. I hail from Steubenville, Ohio. Let’s jump right in. Life is hard- we all need a little help and support on the journey. I see myself as walking beside the people with whom I work. Some need to look into the past and process it, receiving a different perspective on it. Some have a specific goal in mind like decreasing anxiety by learning new skills in a short period of time. Others need a listening ear, with some insights sprinkled in. Others still, benefit from clarity and analysis. What do you need? I believe the interpersonal connection between counselor and client can be healing in and of itself. People are ones that hurt us, we're also the ones that heal each other.
We’ll start by me first telling you a bit about myself. I’ll ask if you have any questions about the paperwork you filled out for Grow and then what brought you here. This first session is unique in that there are a lot of questions about your social/relational, medical/health, and mental health. All subsequent sessions are more conversational.
I care a lot about my clients and that is often a healing experience for people in and of itself. To know someone cares can instill a lot of hope in a person. I am insightful, compassionate, and direct at times.
My ideal client is highly motivated for healing/personal development/growth. They will be committed to weekly therapy in the beginning. If a person is open, honest and willing - we can learn and grow. Therapy with me is an opportunity for that.

He challenged me to look deeper into my own questions, to trust in my feelings as a valid answer to situations I am struggling with. It is empowering to have encouragement in finding solutions within myself, to feel capable of navigating the tough areas of my life.
