I have a strong passion for supporting our veterans and first responders but am open to partnering with anyone wanting assistance in life. I welcome any in person sessions as I am very much an empath and thrive when I can feel each person’s emotions in person. I own my own practice, Freedom Wellness Center LLC, in Canal Fulton, Ohio. The link to my website is at the bottom of this page. If you have Medicaid insurance, you must contact me first to schedule an appointment with me. The one question I get most often by clients and peers is: Why did you go into the counseling profession? My response is always the same. First, I have always had a desire to help people in a time of need or distress. I have felt this way as far back as high school. Secondly, I went through a debilitating anxiety disorder in my mid-twenties. I know first-hand the helplessness and desperation mental and emotional pain causes. I never condone a therapist sharing with a client, they know how the client feels unless they themselves have experienced a similar type of pain. Lastly, I believe in the power of counseling and the benefits it can offer. Counseling is very different from medicine. Counseling requires the client to be actively involved in the process of healing and growth rather than taking medication and waiting for it to work. Counseling empowers a client to by allowing them to see their progress towards the life they desire on a daily, weekly, and even monthly basis.

If you’re a veteran, a man struggling in a difficult relationship, or an adult who is tired of feeling stuck, you’re not looking for someone to simply listen and nod. You want things to change. I work especially well with people dealing with anxiety, anger, trauma, depression, relationship problems, low confidence, overthinking, addiction, or major life stress. My approach is practical and straightforward: we look at the thoughts, beliefs, habits, and circumstances keeping you stuck and start challenging them. I also work with men who feel overwhelmed, unheard, criticized, or uncertain of themselves in important relationships. Maybe you feel like you’re walking on eggshells, questioning yourself, feeling guilty for setting boundaries, or wondering whether you’re the problem. Counseling can help you rebuild confidence, establish healthier boundaries, and make decisions based on your own values rather than fear, guilt, or pressure. I’ve worked with thousands of clients and learned that people often have more strength than they realize. Sometimes you’ve believed lies about yourself for so long that they became part of who you see yourself to be. I’m Christian-friendly, but I meet everyone where they are. I listen closely, ask questions that make you think, challenge perspectives that may be keeping you stuck, and help you find solutions that work in real life. I don’t believe my job is to tell you how to live your life. I want our conversations to help you see your situation more clearly and decide what makes sense for you. I’m also a huge Ohio State Buckeyes fan. I’ll gladly work with Michigan fans, too…but I can't promise neutrality! :) For more about me, visit scarletude.com Bring your sense of humor into sessions. Therapy doesn’t have to feel stiff. We can be real humans in the room together.

For more than a decade I have been counseling clients with a variety of mental, emotional, relational, and spiritual health struggles from a wide spectrum of personalities and life experiences. Each counseling experience brings challenges and victories. I consider it an honor and privilege to come alongside individuals or couples in need- to help in the healing process through processing trauma, identifying and replacing harmful and self-sabotaging patterns of behavior with restorative ones, providing mediation and advocacy, and offering compassion and accountability. I grew up in Ohio, but now live on a 17 acre homestead in the Ozarks with my wife of 17 years and our 6 children. My personal interests range from video games to lumberjacking. I have enjoyed the time and opportunity to work remotely and start a new chapter in my life with my family figuring out the homesteading chaos.

I use a strength based; person centered approach in a collaborative manner to assist my clients to see HOPE as they face challenges in life. I have worked as a clinical counselor for over 19 years in a variety of professional settings. These include outpatient community mental health, crisis services, corporate/workplace settings, and owning and operating a private Christian counseling practice. I also have experience in training law enforcement on how to better assist individuals in a mental health crisis. I have counseled children, adolescents, and adults with diverse backgrounds and ranges of concerns. My therapeutic approach is to meet clients where they are in life and provide support and counseling to help effectively address personal challenges. I also hold a bachelor’s degree from Ohio University in Exercise Science and aspire to educate people on how the use of exercise in the counseling process can positively impact mental health.

Hello there. I’m grateful you came across my page. I have a wide range of experience, working in residential treatment centers, private practices, schools, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, prisons, and have significant experience working with veterans in both an inpatient and outpatient setting. I work with clients across the lifespan, as a great deal of my graduate training was with children, adolescents, and families. I have been trained in several approaches to treat a variety of concerns, but I most enjoy working with trauma and PTSD. Additionally, I have specialized training in working with those who struggle with emotion regulation, distress tolerance, as well as those who engage in self-harm behaviors.

Therapy is a safe space to be heard, supported, and guided toward becoming the best version of yourself. Hi, I’m Jeralyn R. Tharp, M.Ed., LPCC-S, LICDC, GAMB — a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor & Supervisor, Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor, and Gambling Specialist. With over 28 years of experience, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals and families from many walks of life, including military personnel, veterans, and their loved ones. Please note I do have a 24 hour no show policy for appointments. Pick your drink of choice – coffee, tea, water… or just come as you are. Join the conversation – I’ll provide the link, and together we’ll create a safe and supportive space where you can build resilience, find hope, and explore practical strategies for everyday challenges. Reaching out takes courage — and my goal is to meet you exactly where you are. Therapy is your safe place to grow, heal, and uncover strengths you may not even realize you have. Being a therapist isn't just my career—it's a dream I worked hard to achieve because I know what it's like to walk through difficult seasons and wonder if things will ever feel different. My experiences taught me that healing is possible, and they shaped the kind of therapist I strive to be: the therapist I wish I had when I needed one most. I believe every person has inherent worth, even when life has convinced them otherwise. Your past may explain where you've been, but it doesn't have to define where you're going. Healing and forgiveness can coexist, and growth is possible without pretending the pain never happened. My role isn't to tell you who you should be—it's to help you rediscover who you are beneath the anxiety, trauma, self-doubt, or life circumstances that have made you question yourself. I'll meet you with honesty, compassion, and a little humor along the way because I believe therapy should feel like a safe place to be fully human. I believe the only way to truly fail at becoming the person you were meant to be is to stop trying. Whether this is your first time in therapy or you're returning after a difficult experience, my hope is that you leave each session feeling seen, supported, and more hopeful than when you walked in. I'm Sarah, a Licensed Independent Social Worker with specialized training in EMDR, perinatal mental health, Gottman couples therapy, infant mental health, and early childhood mental health. My goal is to create a space where you feel understood, empowered, and hopeful—a place where you feel like you. Outside of the office, I'm a busy mother of two and fantasy author who loves baking and cooking!

I’m M. Brandon Blue, MA, LPCC, NCC, and I work with clients who feel stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or uncertain about who they are becoming. My approach is warm, thoughtful, and honest. I help people slow down enough to understand the stories, beliefs, emotions, and relationship patterns that are shaping their lives. Many of my clients are navigating anxiety, depression, stress, grief, relational conflict, spiritual concerns, identity questions, or major life transitions. I do not believe therapy is only about reducing symptoms, although that matters. I also believe therapy is about helping people live with more clarity, agency, emotional honesty, and alignment. In our work together, we may explore what you have been carrying, what you have been avoiding, what matters most to you, and what kind of life you want to move toward. I bring a balance of compassion and directness, creating space for you to feel understood while also helping you notice patterns that may be keeping you stuck.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Ohio. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Ohio from Cincinnati to Cleveland! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Ohio.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Military/Veterans, is filtering therapists in Ohio that work with patients with similar concerns.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
