LMSW-C, 10 years of experience
Welcome! I'm Brittany Byers, LISW-S. I received by Masters in Social Work from Walden University and have been practicing since 2015. I've worked in community mental health and addiction services, but for the last 3 years, I've been doing telehealth therapy helping clients manage their mental health and addiction issues. Enough about me. Let's take a moment to acknowledge you've taken the first step towards bettering your mental health because, let's be honest - starting therapy can be empowering, confusing, or scary, all at the same time. I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows clients to explore obstacles with concerns related to anxiety, depression, ADHD, substance use, trauma, and/or self-care. I focus on helping clients develop assertive communication & boundaries with themselves and those around them that can help improve their quality of life.
In our first session, I'll be getting to know you and what's going on that led you to seeking therapy. Together, we will identify your challenges and goals - where you want your life to be a month, six months, a year from now. Then, we'll identify options and strategies you can use to get there. You'll leave the session with a better understanding of what you're facing with an "actions I can take right now" approach. There will always be room for suggestions concerning our work together, including keeping each other accountable.
Having worked with clients for the last 10 years, I've learned to help (a) identify the root cause of your challenges and (b) create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress using your strengths.
I love working with clients who are eager to improve their mental health and willing to try new things. Counseling can foster personal development in whatever way you may be seeking and help build the life you so deeply deserve. If that's what you're looking for, I'm here when you're ready to share.

Her manner puts me at ease for our sessions and she's easy to talk to. She has a conversational tone but she can transition quickly into more analytical discussion when the session goes that way.

Really happy to have her as she is kind and nurturing.
I find that a person's faith can be helpful in their mental health journey, so I add that in where appropriate.
Depending on the client and the issue they are presenting with will determine the approach to therapy.
