I’m Elizabeth Lucarelli, a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience helping adults navigate anxiety, ADHD, depression, chronic illness, grief, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. My approach is practical, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I believe therapy should provide a supportive space to feel heard while also helping you understand what is keeping you stuck and develop strategies for moving forward. I draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing, tailoring treatment to each person rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. I also have extensive experience working with veterans and their families. I provide virtual therapy to adults in Michigan, Ohio, and Florida. My practice emphasizes building a supportive and empathetic therapeutic relationship, tailored to each individual's unique needs and goals. Whether addressing immediate challenges or fostering long-term well-being, I am committed to helping my clients navigate life's transitions with resilience and confidence. I look forward to partnering with you on your journey towards better mental health and overall well-being.
Our first session is about getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. I’ll ask questions about what you’re currently experiencing, your history, what is going well, and where you would like things to be different (essentially a psychosocial assessment, but really just a lot of questions!). We’ll talk about what you hope to get out of therapy and begin identifying goals together. By the end of the session, my goal is for us to have a clear sense of what we’ll work on, how I can best support you, and what our next steps will be.
I bring over 20 years of experience as a clinical social worker, including 11 years working with veterans and their families. My style is warm, relaxed, practical, and straightforward. I want clients to feel comfortable being themselves and talking openly without therapy feeling overly formal or clinical. I’m an active therapist, I won’t just sit back and listen. I’ll give you space to process, but I’ll also ask questions, offer another perspective, help you recognize patterns, and teach practical strategies you can use outside of our sessions. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, so I adjust what we do based on your needs, goals, and what is actually helpful to you. My goal is for therapy to feel supportive and genuine, while also helping you make meaningful changes in your everyday life.
My ideal client is an adult who may look like they’re managing things well on the outside but feels anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or exhausted by everything they’re carrying. You may be dealing with anxiety or ADHD, adjusting to a chronic illness or health change, grieving a loss, navigating relationship or family stress, or trying to find your footing during a major life transition. You don’t have to come to therapy knowing exactly what you need or how to fix things. We can figure that out together. I work especially well with people who want a therapist who is easy to talk to but also active and practical, someone who will help them understand what’s going on, identify what they can change, and develop realistic ways to move forward.

I have over 20 years of experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we’ll identify patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, depression, stress, or feeling stuck and work on practical ways to change them. I use CBT in a flexible, collaborative way, focusing on strategies that make sense for you and can be applied in your everyday life.
I use supportive therapy to give clients space to talk openly, feel understood, and work through difficult emotions or life circumstances without judgment. Along with listening and providing support, I help clients gain perspective, recognize their strengths, and identify practical ways to cope with challenges. My approach is warm and encouraging while still helping you move toward meaningful change.
I use Motivational Interviewing to help you explore what you want to change, what may be getting in the way, and what feels realistic for you. Rather than telling you what you “should” do, we’ll work together to clarify your goals, build on your own reasons for change, and identify steps you feel ready to take.
I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help you identify what is already working, build on your strengths, and focus on practical steps toward the changes you want to make. Rather than spending all of our time focused on the problem, we’ll also look at where you want to go and what small, realistic changes can help you start moving in that direction.

Super relaxed environment, definitely made the most of our first session. Keeps accountability as a core element, but in a non stressful way. Looking forward to more!

Liz is great and has been very helpful for me during this season of my life. I look forward to our sessions and I appreciate her easygoing demeanor. I had actually sought out 2 counselors to see who would fit for the challenges I was facing and Liz won me over because she was professional and I felt safe. I was really Leary about speaking to someone because of past experiences but I am thankful for her ability and willingness to help.

She went out of her way to make me feel very comfortable. By the end of the session she had a plan and I felt confident enough to move forward with my next appointment.
