New to Grow
I know it takes courage to reach out for support, and I feel honored to be trusted with my clients’ stories. I strive to create a safe, compassionate space where we’ll work at your pace to build insight, resilience, and lasting change. I have a background in both medical social work and residential mental health, allowing me to build rapport quickly so you can feel safe in our sessions.
In our first session, I’ll take time to get to know you, begin to develop your treatment goals, and walk you through the therapy process so you know what to expect.
In session, I bring a warm, attentive presence, with a focus on active listening and open communication. Building trust is at the core of our work together. Our work together will always be trauma-informed, creating a safe space where you can process your experiences at your own pace.
I feel honored with any client trusts me with life challenges. It is especially gratifying when clients are open to feedback, willing to try coping skills potentially out of their comfort zone, and practice vulnerability in session. Due to life experience, I am particularly well prepared to work with clients going through challenging life transitions, such as professional school, and those who struggle with significant anxiety.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
When we are able to notice patterns in how our emotions impact our thoughts and behaviors, it gives us more control over our distress. Together, we'll work on gently challenging these patterns and developing healthy coping skills.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
In ACT, I work with clients to build awareness to their thoughts and emotions without becoming overwhelmed by them. By using mindfulness and building psychological flexibility, clients are able to move towards values and goals.
Compassion Focused
Shame is one of the biggest road blocks in healing. I work with clients to build self-compassion and grace so they can be kinder to themselves.
