I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who believes therapy doesn’t have to feel like sitting in a stiff chair while someone silently nods at you. I bring both professionalism and a sense of humor into the room, because sometimes laughter really is the best coping skill .I’ve worked with teens, college students, and adults for the last 7 years. Some common concerns I have helped navigate are stress, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationships, and the big messy in-betweens that don’t necessarily always fit neatly into a diagnosis.
Hi there! I am Stephen Kovacs a licensed clinical social worker with 5 years of experience helping adults who feel constantly “on edge” from anxiety and panic—always braced for the next shoe to drop, even when life looks fine from the outside. I’m licensed as an LISW-CP in South Carolina and an LCSW in North Carolina and Virginia and practice predominantly in the evenings via telehealth.
My focus is on high-responsibility adults who are tired of living in survival mode: racing thoughts, worst‑case scenarios, physical symptoms like a racing heart or tight chest, and the burnout that comes from holding everything together for everyone else. Together, we’ll slow things down, make sense of what anxiety and panic are doing in your body and your life, and build concrete tools to manage spirals, reduce avoidance, and feel more in control day to day—not with fluffy advice, but with step‑by‑step, doable changes.

While progressing along this path, you will enjoy the process of learning about yourself and perceiving yourself in new ways. My experience is that therapy doesn't need to be painful. I know it can be intimidating to call a therapist, but I hope you will call me and see how I can help you.
My background is in neuropsychology, so I enjoy helping people understand how their brains work, in order to find the best way to manage anxiety, depression, and just plain dealing with life!

Would you like to create space for work/ life balance? Would it be helpful to learn more about the connection between your behaviors, feelings, and thoughts? Are you ready to talk about coping strategies- both those that work and learn new ones?
I work collaboratively with individuals and families to manage stressors, feelings of stress and anxiety, and cope with addictions. I help clients develop coping strategies that may challenge past thoughts and behaviors but lead toward the accomplishment of goals. Sometimes, it is simply reminding ourselves of what worked before and getting back on track and other times, it is about learning something never practiced before.

Maybe you’ve gotten really good at holding it all together—but you’re exhausted.
You’re functioning, showing up for everyone, and doing what you’re supposed to do, yet underneath it all you may feel anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns you can’t seem to break. Maybe your relationships keep repeating the same painful cycles. Maybe something happened in your past that still affects how you respond today. Or maybe you simply know that the way you’re living isn’t the way you want to keep living.
That’s where I come in.
I’m Pam Grant, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with 16 years of experience helping women understand not only what they’re feeling, but why their mind and body respond the way they do.
My approach goes beyond simply talking about your problems. I use trauma-informed and somatic approaches to help you recognize patterns, regulate your nervous system, process difficult experiences, and create real change—not just temporarily feel better.
I work especially well with women who are ready to stop surviving and start feeling more like themselves again.
Therapy with me is compassionate, honest, practical, and never judgmental. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you reach out.
You just have to be ready for something to change.

Taking an evidenced-based, client-centered, and existentially-informed approach, I aim to provide a safe and supportive space where we can collaborate and work at your own pace to help you reach your goals. I work with individuals from a variety of backgrounds on issues including depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, relationship challenges, grief and loss, career transitions, and other mental health and life concerns.
Along with the many benefits of counseling come risks. Since counseling often involves discussing unpleasant or uncomfortable aspects of your life, you may experience feelings such as sadness, guilt, anger, frustration, loneliness, shame, and/or helplessness. Counseling allows you to process your feelings and often leads to better relationships, solutions to specific problems, and relief from feelings of distress. There are no guarantees of what you will experience. In order for you to achieve the most benefit from counseling, you will have to be engaged in your therapy sessions, committed, and do work outside of therapy to meet your personal goals.
You don't have to face this alone. Are you feeling overwhelmed by grief, anxiety, or the weight of past trauma? Do you find yourself stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, longing for peace and clarity? Maybe you're navigating the loss of a loved one, the challenges of new motherhood, or the complexities of a relationship. What would it feel like to be truly seen, supported, and understood? You don’t have to go through this alone. With compassion and evidence-based care, I’ll walk beside you as you work toward healing, resilience, & emotional wellness. Are you ready to take that first step?
