Hello! I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) who graduated in 2009 from a small college in Pennsylvania. Currently, I live in North Carolina and I am licensed here and in Tennessee. Originally, I am from Connecticut, but I have lived all over this country and have lived overseas as well when I was in the Peace Corps. I have been working mainly with adults who are living with anxiety, depression, and trauma. My focus is to help people live their best life. I do this through the therapy process, but I also try to include humor in our sessions.
Hello!
I appreciate you being here! Acknowledging the need for help and knowing where to start can be overwhelming. I hope that my profile will offer some insight, but please don't hesitate to reach out. We can arrange a phone or video call to answer any questions you may have and explore the potential to work together. Your well-being is important, and I'm here to assist you on this path.
My mission is to empower individuals in cultivating balance, becoming more present in their daily lives, discovering joy and comfort, and fostering security in themselves, their relationships, and life itself. Our collaborative journey together involves identifying what's not working for you, while also tapping into your inner strengths and personal resources to restore balance in your life. My approach is holistic, encompassing the needs of both your mind and body.
Whether you're grappling with overwhelming stress or trauma, relationship challenges, or recurring anxiety and depression, remember that seeking therapy is a courageous step forward. You deserve a secure environment to heal and grow. In our sessions, I'll approach you with empathy and evidence-based techniques, empowering you to overcome the obstacles and patterns that may be hindering your happiness and well-being.
I am dedicated to helping people heal holistically from past traumas, anxiety, depression, anger or relationship challenges. I use a very effective treatment modality called Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help people heal from traumatic memories, negative beliefs about themselves, or past situations in one's life that have caused them emotional pain. Often , I blend EMDR interventions with "parts work"/Internal Family Systems (IFS) interventions, which is useful when a client has parts of themselves that are fearful of trauma work. In addition, I teach people how to manage their thoughts and emotions using mindfulness, mind/body, meditation practices, and cognitive behavioral methods. For those who are interested in healing their mental health naturally through changing their life style habits, I have training in how proper nutrition, sleep and exercise can help improve one's brain health, and therefore improve their mental health.

Welcome! I’m April, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina. Congratulations on taking the first step towards reaching your goals. Don’t discount the decision you’ve made to search for help, because many people never do so. I see counseling as a partnership between the therapist and the client; I have the mental health expertise while you’re the expert of you! For this reason I'll spend our earliest contacts getting to know you better.
Choosing a therapist is a very personal decision and therefore, I want to give you information so you can choose for yourself if you’d like to work with me. I would describe my counseling style as warm, but professional. I love to use strength-based approaches as much as possible, also incorporating your values into our work.
I find myself using an integrative approach, incorporating different theoretical frameworks and techniques that I will tailor to fit your needs. Two approaches I use most often are Person-Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Person-Centered counseling uses a lot of reflection to help you process your thoughts and feelings, which is often the first step towards solving your problems. CBT helps us examine your thought patterns and whether they are helpful or harmful. If a particular thought is harmful that could trigger issues like a depressed mood, for example. We’ll work together to replace the harmful thoughts with more helpful ones. There are many other approaches to potentially integrate into our sessions, and I’d be happy to explain anything I believe may benefit you.
I have recently earned a certification in perinatal mental health (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International. You can learn more at https://postpartum.net/

Hello, I am Lori Breland, MA, NCC, LCMHC, C-DBT. My primary focus is working with clients struggling with trauma, family conflict, low self-esteem, lack of supports, inability to regulate strong emotions and self-harming/SI. I am an MA (master's in clinical Mental Health Counseling), NCC (National Certified Counselor), LCMHC (Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor), and C-DBT (Certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I am also trained and working on my certification in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy). I am a member of ACA, ACES, Chi Upsilon Chi Honor Society, and Southern ACES.
It is my belief that every human being has dignity and worth no matter what you have gone through or experienced. I aim to provide a warm, safe, and accepting environment that is non-judgmental by which you can process and work through issues that are problematic. I work to form a therapeutic relationship with clients that is collaborative, promotes insight, and helps to foster change and wellness.
I have experience treating anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, grief and loss, anger management, and ADHD. My clinical approach is integrative, drawing from both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). However, I will implement other approaches according to the needs of my clients. My passion is to help each individual achieve their desired goals and reach their full potential. With support, encouragement, and unconditional acceptance, change is possible and life can become better. The journey towards change begins with the first step.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, mentally unsteady, or unsure how to move forward — you don’t have to carry that alone.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and graduate of North Carolina State University. I work with adults navigating anxiety, burnout, life transitions, relationship stress, and questions of direction or purpose. Many of the people I support feel capable and motivated — yet internally worn down, struggling to feel grounded, present, or confident in themselves.
My primary focus is helping clients stabilize emotionally and mentally — so you feel more anchored, regulated, and clear. From that place of steadiness, we begin to explore how you can grow into the fullest version of yourself, making the most of your strengths, values, and lived experience rather than trying to become someone you’re not.
Therapy with me is not about pushing or fixing — it’s about creating a solid foundation where clarity, confidence, and meaningful change can naturally emerge. For those who find meaning and strength in their Christian faith, I welcome that as part of our work together — though spirituality is never required or assumed. You bring what matters to you, and we build from there.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with nearly 40 years’ experience in the field of behavioral health.I look forward to working together to help you learn ways to explore your thoughts, feelings and actions, and how you can manage anxiety as well as improve your personal relationships. Together we can set goals and break these goals down into steps that you can accomplish one by one to see steady progress.
I'm Angela Harrington with 10 years please experience in mental health, co-occurring disorders, and substance abuse disorders. My goal in therapy is to elicit change talk, provide positive insight, and motivation to free yourself. When working with clients my structured approach is from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) where the individual learns to explore the link between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Therapist with 16-plus years of counseling experience related to grief, trauma, depression, anxiety, and life transition related to postpartum depression, new careers, retirement, divorce, disabilities, and the aging process. Experience also includes building and maintaining relationships in a healthy way.
I want to walk this journey with you providing empathy, education, and a non-judgmental safe place for you to share your thoughts and feelings. We will move at your pace because we cannot rush grief. Thank you for allowing me to share your life and its many detours.
I received my master’s degree in social work from University of South Carolina. My post-graduate work focuses predominately on child welfare, specifically working with young children, young adolescents, and their families who have experienced trauma within their home. I also have considerable experience working with numerous populations such as victims of domestic violence, mental illness, substance abuse, homelessness, and those who are developmentally disabled. I use a number of different therapeutic approaches when working with clients, focusing mainly on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
