Hey there, I'm really glad you're here. Let me tell you a bit about why therapy is so meaningful to me. I began my own journey into therapy when I was younger, facing similar struggles to what you might be experiencing now. It wasn't easy, but therapy became my light during those tough times. It showed me that even in the midst of darkness, there's hope and room for joy. Now, I'm here to offer you that same support and guidance. If you're ready to take that step, I'm here to walk alongside you, helping you find the tools you need to feel better.

Hello, I’m Denise, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years of experience serving military personnel and their families. As a veteran’s wife of 36½ years, I deeply understand both the visible and invisible challenges that come with military life. In my work, I’ve helped countless individuals and couples navigate stress, trauma, transitions, and relational struggles by equipping them with practical coping strategies and compassionate support. My approach combines clinical expertise with heartfelt understanding, creating a safe space where healing begins and hope is restored.
About Me
Hi, I’m a Licensed Clinical Master’s Level Social Worker (LMSW) based in Michigan. For over 26 years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals, families, children, and veterans as they navigate life’s everyday challenges and transitions. Many clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, stretched thin by work and family responsibilities, struggling with relationship conflict, or discouraged by low self-esteem. Others are parents seeking guidance as they support a child or preteen with ADHD, school stress, behavior concerns, or the complexities of IEPs and 504 plans.
No matter what brings you to therapy, I believe your story matters. I strive to meet you where you are and create a space where you feel heard, respected, and supported without judgment. Life can feel demanding and exhausting at times, and therapy can be a place to slow down, reflect, and build skills to manage it more effectively.
My approach is compassionate, client-centered, and strength-based. I use evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), trauma-informed care, and mindfulness-based strategies. Together, we focus on practical tools you can apply in daily life—managing stress and emotions, improving communication, building coping skills, strengthening relationships, and increasing resilience at home, school, and work.
I also have over 15 years of experience working with veterans, supporting trauma recovery, reintegration into civilian life, and access to housing and community resources. I bring a culturally responsive perspective to my work with immigrants and first-generation individuals, addressing identity development, acculturation stress, and family dynamics.
Whether you are an adult navigating stress or life transitions, a parent seeking support for your child, or someone working to rebuild confidence and emotional balance, I offer a safe, supportive space to heal, grow, and move forward with greater clarity, resilience, and well-being.
My name is Danni, and I’m a Licensed Therapist with degrees in Clinical Social Work and Marriage and Family Counseling. I’ve worked in mental health across a range of settings, but it was my nearly eight years of experience working with aggressive, nonverbal children and clients on the autism spectrum that shaped my passion for understanding behavior as unspoken, unconscious communication.
This experience taught me to read beneath the surface and recognize that our behaviors often reflect deeper emotional needs and unresolved wounds. While my roots are in behavioral work, my focus is on helping adults and adolescents explore their inner worlds—especially through inner child work. I believe the inner child is present in all of us, and that healing comes from understanding and nurturing these parts of ourselves.
My approach is direct, thorough, and compassionate. I am committed to helping clients get to the root of their distress and move toward a more authentic and fulfilling life.
My Approach and Beliefs
I offer progressive therapy grounded in psychodynamic trauma processing and inner child work. Together, we’ll go beyond surface symptoms to trace pain to its origins, uncover where coping mechanisms and triggers first formed, and support you in healing and integrating your whole self.
This process can be intense and challenging, but I am here to walk with you every step of the way. My goal is to help you move from surviving to truly living.

Hi! My name is Jessica Mayfield-Ashwood, a clinically licensed social worker with 6 years of practice in the mental health field. I received my MSW degree from The University of Michigan and am a proud native of Detroit, Mi. Hello all! I am a licensed Social Worker. I received my Masters degree from The University of Michigan and have been practicing for 23 years. I have many diverse life experiences, by which I developed a strong sense of empathy and passion to help others. I enjoy helping adults of all ages, create the life they were destined to live.
I believe in therapy as someone who has done my own clinical work since I was in my mid-twenties. I grew up in NJ and moved to Michigan to attend college and have been here since that time. I spent the first part of my career working in the foster care system with children and adolescents which I really enjoyed. That gave me a great foundation for working with the adult issues of attachment, child developmental stages that were not accomplished and struggles with current relationships.
I do a lot of work with people who were raised by narcissistic parents, people who are dealing with cancer diagnosis and those with chronic or life threatening illnesses. I work with people who are addressing childhood trauma, sexual abuse or emotional abuse. I have worked with adoptees who are seeking understanding of themselves and their past. I do a lot of work with individuals transitioning from a divorce situation and all the adjustments that this involves especially in coparenting situations. I find people and their life experiences fascinating and always worth unpacking and investigating to gain a better understanding of the self as a whole being; there is always something new to learn.
My experience spans work with individuals of diverse genders, identities, and cultural backgrounds, as well as those from low-income communities. In my current position I work with families of children and young adults on the spectrum, clients with severe depression and anxiety, and schizophrenia. I strive to meet each client with openness, respect, and an understanding of their unique journey.
Hi! I'm Ashley. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I graduated with my Masters Degree in Social Work from Grand Valley State University in 2008. I have spent time working in medical hospitals in the Emergency Department and with patients after they've been admitted. Most recently, I worked 12 years at an inpatient psychiatric hospital, the last couple of years at the Lead Clinical Social Worker on a locked inpatient unit. June 2023 I started my outpatient therapy practices and now work fully remote via telehealth providing individual and couples therapy to clients in Michigan.
I work with people of all ages who are trying to get the most out of their relationships and are finding that anxiety keeps getting in the way of feeling confident with others or at school. Having healthy relationships is the cornerstone of a balanced life. You know that there is no better time to resolve these issues of insecurity than now. I can help.
If you are feeling isolated because of your anxiety you are not alone. Many people struggle with anxiety and negative thinking and counseling can help! With counseling you can look forward to being more confident expressing yourself, feeling more fulfilled in relationships, and gaining control of your worry.
