With nearly two decades of experience in my practice, I employ an eclectic approach tailored to meet diverse client needs. As an active researcher in the mental health field, I have authored numerous first-author publications in the expressive arts. My current research focuses on new and emerging tools for the treatment of anxiety. I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, and I am dedicated to delivering the most effective and innovative services to support your well-being.
The first session often involves gathering information about your history and presenting issues. Then, we talk about your interests and a little bit about who you are. From that point, therapy builds momentum and there may be homework, tools, and field assignments to help you manage your conditions.
With nearly twenty years in practice, I’ve sat through thousands of sessions, helping people work through challenges that led to lasting changes. I'm very easy to talk to.
I work best with clients who are committed to real change through concrete tools—not just conversation. They’re also motivated to practice outside of session and are open to creative, practical strategies that translate into everyday life. They value just enough guidance to help them arrive at their own solutions and are ready to accept change rather than resist it. They come prepared to do the work, often tracking topics in a journal or app prior to sessions in order to stay focused, productive, and efficient.
Eclectic
I use an eclectic approach to treatment, drawing on Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational-Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), behaviorism, and existential theory.

Donald has a way of letting you know you have been heard without the expectation of delving into closed chapters. His willingness to share about healthy options is refreshing.

Donald understands the complexities of my situtation as a person in recovery from a mental health condition while running a non-profit organization.
