New to Grow
I am a graduate of St. Mary’s College where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Social Work. I graduated from University of Michigan with my Masters in Social Work with a specialization in Interpersonal Practice. I have 20 years of experience working with individuals of all ages dealing with transitions at all stages of life. In addition to my private practice, I have a wide range of experience including school social work with adolescents and teens, workplace stress, anxiety and depression, relationship issues, and with hospice and primary care physician offices counseling chronically ill patients and family members.
I am here to listen, ask questions, and help you work through challenges and life transitions. Our first session is an opportunity for me to get to know your story and begin to talk about how counseling can help address the root cause, as well as start to provide strategies to create change. During follow up sessions, we will set goals together and continue to dive deeper into your story, in a direction and at a pace in which you feel comfortable. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches to address the specific issues at hand, providing effective strategies which you can put into practice to help you see the progress you are making each week.
I tailor my counseling sessions to each clients’ unique story and specific needs, while helping individuals navigate through unexpected challenges life can often throw at us. I often work with clients to break down the issue at hand into smaller steps in order to achieve their overall goal. This makes the issue less overwhelming, more manageable and allows you to see progress made along the way. Through counseling, I will help you understand, overcome, and advance in your journey to become the best version of yourself.
I work well with clients who are navigating life transitions including relationship issues, family dynamics, moves, health issues, parenting challenges, and those navigating work and school stressors. I enjoy breaking down the issues into manageable action items, so it can give clients something to work on in between sessions. This helps to also see progress made week to week and to see the changes they are making in life.
