I will like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as a licensed mental health therapist. I want to tell you a little about myself and my fieldwork experiences. I worked in this field for several years, along with various training, to assist clients in different areas. In the last several years, I worked in a mental health hospital with adolescents, substance abuse, and crisis intervention in various settings. People with trauma, depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia were some of the people I helped at work. I worked with individuals on career choices to increase their career paths to maximize success. I support individuals in their desire to become independent, and I do this by helping them identify their true potential.

If you struggle with anxious attachment, people pleasing, setting boundaries, feeling triggered, anger, anxiety, depression, co-dependence, parenting issues, and ADD/ ADHD, then I want to work with you. These symptoms and attachment style are often related to each other and often related to similar childhood experiences of inconstant or abusive/neglectful caregivers. (ADD and ADHD is not cause by caregivers, however, when it goes undiagnosed in children, there is s strong correlation to symptoms described above)

Karenna Lang is a licensed master's level clinical therapist. Her educational background includes master's and post graduate degrees from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and the University of London, UK. She is licensed to practice in the State of Michigan and the State of Connecticut. Her comments and questions directed toward potential clients include the following: If you are facing challenges in your life and are considering therapy I am happy to assist. Many of us experience issues with anxiety, confidence, and self-esteem. Emotions, thoughts and behaviors can be very challenging. It is my goal to assist clients with understanding how these three components are interrelated and to assist clients with empowering themselves to achieve increased awareness, introspection and insight and gain a happier life. Are you faced with worry? Do you find yourself overthinking and experiencing racing thoughts? Perhaps you experience social anxiety. Are you facing a history of family trauma? Or perhaps, issues with communication and conflict in a relationship? Perhaps you are dealing with a stressful matter related to your career, or educational endeavors. Or, you may be dealing with identity issues and/or gender changes. These are just some of the examples of the topics that we can address during sessions. Karenna Lang's primary areas of interest include persons suffering from anxiety, persons with a history of family trauma, and individuals and couples experiencing problems with communication and conflicts. Experiences, focus and satisfaction also includes working with individuals in the LGBTQ+ community. Karenna Lang further has expressed, whatever issues you may be facing, it is a courageous step to seek and obtain counseling services and I am happy to offer a friendly approach and a safe, confidential, respectful, and supportive environment.

Over the course of my career, I have had the privilege of working with people from diverse backgrounds, each with their own unique story, strengths, and struggles. These experiences have shaped my understanding of how deeply personal circumstances are influenced by larger systems, and how healing requires both compassion and practical strategies. My therapeutic style is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative. I believe that healing is not something I do for you but something we create together. I meet you exactly where you are, without judgment, and walk beside you as you move forward. My role is to provide guidance, support, and evidence-based tools that empower you to make meaningful changes while honoring your lived experiences. I specialize in helping clients manage stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges, but I also work with individuals seeking personal growth, clarity, or support during life transitions. Regardless of the circumstances, I view therapy as a space where people can feel seen, heard, and supported in ways that allow them to connect more deeply with themselves and others. At the core of my approach is the belief that every individual possesses resilience, strengths, and untapped potential. Therapy is a process of uncovering those strengths, identifying barriers, and creating a path toward balance and fulfillment. Whether you are facing a major life crisis or simply want to live with greater authenticity and joy, I am committed to helping you discover new possibilities for growth and healing. I love to work with people who are willing to think, to consider new ideas, to examine themselves honestly, and to try new behaviors. This is exciting! I love people who allow me the occasional moment of silence so that I can prepare a question that fits their unique personality and situation. I love working with people who are excited about working on things throughout the week and will give me honest feedback as to how effective that idea was for them. And i find it very enjoyable to work with someone who can articulate what they believe their issue is and what they think they need to do to overcome (either by increasing or decreasing a behavior) their problem (even if it takes a few sessions to get there). it's great to work with people who will do their best to give a new idea a shot. All that being said, everyone has their up days and down days. We wouldn't be human if we didn't. Being willing to let me walk alongside of them on those days, as well as the good days, humbles me because of their trust. Therapy can be work, and change doesn't fall into our laps. But it is possible, and in many cases, in order to experience abundant living, very necessary. Finally, I really enjoy working with people who, even as they identify a tendency, a personality trait, a reaction, or a thought process that may be related to childhood or adult trauma or abuse, will also look for ways to overcome its impact on them instead of being content to sit in its shade and let themselves be bested by it.

I believe in therapy as someone who has done my own clinical work since I was in my mid-twenties. I grew up in NJ and moved to Michigan to attend college and have been here since that time. I spent the first part of my career working in the foster care system with children and adolescents which I really enjoyed. That gave me a great foundation for working with the adult issues of attachment, child developmental stages that were not accomplished and struggles with current relationships. I do a lot of work with people who were raised by narcissistic parents, people who are dealing with cancer diagnosis and those with chronic or life threatening illnesses. I work with people who are addressing childhood trauma, sexual abuse or emotional abuse. I have worked with adoptees who are seeking understanding of themselves and their past. I do a lot of work with individuals transitioning from a divorce situation and all the adjustments that this involves especially in coparenting situations. I find people and their life experiences fascinating and always worth unpacking and investigating to gain a better understanding of the self as a whole being; there is always something new to learn.

I specialize in working with diverse populations, including veterans and their families, couples, and victims of trauma. While on active duty, I served the veteran population for 20 years as a staff chaplain and chaplain supervisor. I served as a clinical chaplain for 9 years at the Dept. of VA in Mental Health and Substance Abuse Recovery and Rehabilitation. I'm also a licensed master social worker and a certified addictions counselor with the National Certification Commission for Addiction Professionals. I am a firm believer in a person-centered, whole-health approach to healthcare and total well-being. If you ever need assistance for what could be described as symptoms of depression or anxiety, this may require a more comprehensive evaluation. If you experience poor appetite, lack of interest in normal activities, poor concentration, and frequent fatigue, additional information could be required in order to establish a proper diagnosis and treatment plan. Seeking help at times can be very difficult. Some people believe seeking help for personal problems is a sign of weakness. In fact, the opposite is true; it's actually a sign of strength! I look forward to working with you and assisting you in getting your life back on track. I have committed nearly 46 years of my life to helping others. In our work together, you’ll have a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where your concerns can be explored openly, your experiences are truly heard, and your challenges are met with evidence-based strategies and consistent encouragement. Together, we can work on reducing stress, healing from emotional pain, rebuilding self-worth, strengthening boundaries, developing healthier thought patterns, and creating a life that feels more peaceful and authentic. Whether you’re working to overcome anxious or intrusive thoughts, recover from burnout, process a breakup or divorce, improve confidence, manage overwhelming emotions, heal unresolved wounds, or reconnect with your identity and purpose, we will move at a pace that feels comfortable and empowering for you. My goal is to help you heal, grow, and create a life that feels calmer, brighter, and more aligned with the person you want to become.

Each person interprets the world through a lens shaped by experiences that are uniquely their own. My approach is integrative and solution-focused, drawing on evidence-based methods including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Existential Therapy — which explores the deeper questions of meaning and purpose in life. I partner with my clients to build a deeper understanding of their unique psychological makeup and to address the ways past experiences may still be affecting them today. Together, we don't just identify the challenges you face — we explore their roots and develop practical, personalized strategies to reduce their impact on your life and relationships.

God uniquely and wonderfully creates every person. In our uniqueness, we can get stuck. I am passionate about walking with individuals as they work to get unstuck, find healing, and find their path to living a fuller life. I have served as a pastor and a chaplain in prison ministry. Through pastoral care, I have spent considerable time walking with couples as they work through concerns. I have spent much of my chaplaincy working with men struggling with addiction, identity issues, and faith issues.

Helping Women Heal From Trauma and Reclaim Their Lives. You've been living in survival mode for long enough. The weight of past trauma can show up in unexpected ways—as a constant hum of anxiety, a feeling of being stuck, or in patterns that sabotage your relationships and self-worth. It’s exhausting, and you deserve to feel whole again. Imagine a future where you can: Sleep soundly through the night without being haunted by the past, feel a deep sense of calm and control over your emotions and set healthy boundaries with confidence. My purpose is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can finally begin to heal.
