I have been practicing Pastoral Care & Counseling for over 20 years. I am a board-certified chaplain and spiritually integrated psychotherapist through the Association Clinical Pastoral Education and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I have experience in providing counseling and assessment services to children, adolescents, adults, families in church, social service agencies, seniors/nursing homes and hospital/ hospice healthcare settings.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
My strength is a provider are compassion, care and willingness to advocate for clients' best interests. I work with a philosophy of genuine care for the needs of others. My background in service especially as a healthcare chaplain has allowed me to expand my awareness of a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds. I enjoy helping others identify or strengthen their beliefs in themselves.
I hold a person- centered philosophy if care. Additionally, I use existentialist and dignity therapies approaches however cognitive therapy is primarily used. Both therapies are used to identify cognitive, emotive, and behavioral issues which may help address problems. I seek to provide a holistic approach to care and counseling. This means I identify spirituality/emotional, psychological, social constructs as a part of the complete person and their needs. I believe that the individual needs of the client are most essential. The relationship of the counselor and client is the most important for a successful therapeutic relationship.
