Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Michigan. I received my Masters from the University of Michigan and have been a practicing mental health clinician for 9 years. I have worked with folks from many different backgrounds, but my most recent work has been with adults. Whether you're struggling with mental health concerns, relationship issues, or simply seeking personal growth, having a therapist who can offer empathy, guidance and support can be the difference that helps you to make the next steps you've been hoping to. I believe everyone can benefit from self-exploration and more intentional work toward self-fulfillment.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together you can expect a warm welcome. My goal is to create a safe and nonjudgemental space. We'll start our session by discussing your preferences, concerns, and the reason for our meeting. We will talk about your background and the things most important to you in your journey. Remember that you drive the process, and we will only need to discuss as much as you're comfortable sharing when you feel like sharing it. We will chat about expectations surrounding the therapeutic experience and review the necessities surrounding confidentiality. We will create a plan based on the goals you have for yourself. This can be updated and edited as needs change. This will help guide us and keep us focused so that your hopes and desires stay at the center of our work. We will use your plan to identify an approach that best aligns with your goals and preferences and there will be space for any questions you might have. At the end of our first session, we will talk about next steps and schedule future sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength as a therapist lies in my ability to cultivate deep, empathetic connections with my clients. I believe this is incredibly important as we work toward healing and emotional growth. I believe in empowerment and focus on strengths, so my clients feel an active role in their healing journey. Additionally, as a person with lived experience in the LGBTQ+ community I offer a deep understanding of both the challenges and strengths experienced and can offer a safe and affirming environment for those who may identify.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I've been using CBT in my practice for the past 9 years. CBT helps to identify and challenge the thought patterns a person has that can lead to unwanted behaviors or relationship challenges. Together we will work to identify these areas and develop tools to challenge those thoughts.
