About me

Hello! I am so glad to meet you and to introduce myself. I am a licensed clinical social worker who has been practicing behavioral health for the past three decades. I received my professional training at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. I have been practicing therapy for about 15 years and specialize in supporting individuals navigating complex emotional landscapes. I have a passion for motorcycle riding, golf and pickleball. I'm a husband and father of 3 adult kids, 2 dogs and a cat. My therapeutic approach is attuned to individual needs, particularly for adults seeking understanding and meaningful connection. I create a supportive environment where clients can explore difficult emotions, heal from past experiences, and develop healthier coping strategies. Whether you're struggling with isolation, family dynamics, or seeking greater life purpose, I'm committed to walking alongside you with empathy and professional expertise.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, we will spend time getting to know each other. We will spend time understanding your history and begin to understand what is most important to you. The time we spend in our first session helps us to determine if we are a "good fit" together and helps us begin to identify goals for our work together. My hope is that when you leave this first session you will have increased hope and fresh ideas of what actions can be taken now to begin improving your life.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring an open minded perspective to our work together, prioritizing your unique journey and personal growth. I have an enthusiastic personality and like to use metaphors and pictures in my work. I believe that when we can visualize something, we increase the chances of understanding and achieving it. My goal is to help you build resilience, understand underlying patterns, and create positive change in your life.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My practice focuses on addressing challenges like depression, anxiety, addiction, grief, and self-esteem issues. I offer compassionate, evidence-based support for adult individuals experiencing midlife transitions, relationship dynamics, and personal growth. In addition, I have an enthusiasm for working with men and the unique issues they face.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy can help you understand that the way you think impacts your feelings and actions in life. I have been using this method of therapy my entire career. In therapy we will work together to discover how your thoughts may be getting you stuck in depression, anxiety or other negative emotional spaces. We can identify how life challenges may be impacting the way you see the world and discover new possibilities to improve your emotional health. My goal is to help you to learn about yourself, heal from past or current hurts, and become empowered to build a renewed life of contentment.

Motivational Interviewing

I believe that all people have a potential to self discover and improve their lives for the better. My role is to be a good working partner with everyone I work with. My approach includes careful listening, coaching/teaching; and guiding the process of change and growth. We discover what is most important to you and that is where we start.
