Hi, I’m Stephanie. I provide clinical mental health therapy and substance abuse treatment in both Michigan and Wisconsin. I have 10 years of experience in helping clients recover from addiction, regulate moods, manage anger, increase motivation, reduce anxiety, improve self-esteem and confidence, and overcome career difficulties. At some point in everyone’s life, we all need someone to help us navigate our way, so signing up for therapy was taking your first courageous step. You may be experiencing a major setback, but it isn’t the end—it’s an opportunity for change. I look forward to getting to know you, your story, and how we can improve it together.
The first session is a bit of a meet-and-greet. We introduce ourselves and you tell me about some things that are bringing you to counseling. Often times there are things happening in our work, social and home lives that could use some improvement, so my role will be to help you discuss what you would like to see change and how we can accomplish that.
My greatest strengths as a provider are active listening and empathy. Counseling is a therapeutic relationship, and you deserve to have someone who listens and cares.
I love working with individuals who feel stuck, triggered, overwhelmed and worried about their lives. Clients can benefit from learning safety skills for trauma, distress tolerance skills for when life feels too hard, and thought reframing to let go of negative and harmful beliefs. Having a safe person to process our feelings and concerns with can bring about lasting, meaningful change.

I use CBT to teach a variety of coping skills for anxiety and depression.
The concept of narrative therapy is that we are all living our own story and choices take us down different paths. I use this model to guide clients with making important life decisions.
I use this in my practice by asking clients what their life would be like if they had a solution to their problem, and together we come up with ideas that would change or alleviate the problem. The benefit of this technique is it teaches a person to be self-reliant and creative in problem-solving.

Stephanie has given me lots of clarity and hope when it comes to the obstacles that I face in this life. She creates a warm and safe environment where I feel confident and respected. I have been in search for someone as understanding and supportive, and I find it easy to be myself and feel understood. That’s all I could really ask for when it comes to sharing my little slice of life.

I met with Stephanie over a year ago and she did an excellent job with giving me resources for coping, boundaries. etc. Having some difficulties in life right now so I reached out to her and was able to get in. Very, very happy.
