Welcome! My name is April Lacey, and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois and work with clients statewide via telehealth. I see clients coping with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, and self-esteem concerns.
My approach focuses on fostering a strong collaborative relationship with clients to reach their goals. I value genuineness and believe in meeting clients where they are while treating everyone with respect and compassion.
Since beginning my career in psychotherapy in 2002, I have been driven by a deep commitment to assisting individuals navigate life’s challenges and realize their fullest potential. Over more than two decades, I’ve had the privilege of guiding clients through moments of crisis and transformation—whether they arrived seeking relief from anxiety, support in grieving, or guidance through life transitions. My approach is integrative, blending the humanistic clarity of client‑centered therapy with the structured, skill‑based power of cognitive behavioral techniques.
I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Client-Centered Therapy, combining practical tools with a supportive, nonjudgmental space. My approach helps clients challenge unhelpful thoughts, build coping skills, and grow through empathy, trust, and collaboration.
Reaching out for help can feel daunting—I know it takes courage to share your worries or frustrations. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, low mood, relationship challenges, or feeling stuck, you’re not alone and your story matters. If you’re curious about therapy or how to start, I’d be honored to listen and support you when you’re ready.

Hello, I'm Tracey.
"Relationships often die not because of conversations that were had but rather conversations that were never had," (Lysa Terkeurst).
Communication is the #1 most reported reason for couples to enter therapy. It is the "appropriate" way of saying, "he doesn't listen to me," and "all she wants to do is talk and talk, {nag}" or giving each other what I refer to as the "non-verbal abuse" {silent treatment}. It means I don't know my partner, or we can't talk without fighting. Yet almost every couple starts off communicating at some level. I mean, come on--you and your partner would not be a couple if the first date involved playing the "Staring contest" where the first one to blink loses.
What we fail to recognize is that Communication is a form of Intimacy. And all other forms on intimacy hinge on protecting the communicative intimacy. So, what is that and how do I get some before we leave each other?
Communicative intimacy refers to the deep emotional and relational closeness that develops through communication, where individuals feel understood, valued, and connected on a personal level. It is both a feeling and a process shaped by how people interact, listen, and respond to each other. It involves an aligned commitment to taking care of it and protecting it. So, time's a wasting and you both are out of options. You both need to commit to starting this before you commit to ending.
Welcome! I'm Douglas and I would appreciate the opportunity to help you get on track and stay on track.
You want to be heard. You want to be understood. You want to be respected. You want someone on your side to help you in your life journey. You are always my priority.
Research tells us that the top predictor of excellent clinical outcomes is therapeutic rapport. That means that a great clinical relationship with your therapist is more important than any particular treatment theory. I have experience with adult clients across a wide range of racial, ethnic, gender and socioeconomic spectrums, and have demonstrated the ability to make every client feel heard and understood on their terms. Mixing evidence-based methods and humor, we will address your priorities in a manner to help you make progress and help you to enjoy the journey.
In my practice, we fight. I want to help you become a mental health warrior.
I am a licensed clinical social worker by education, and I have been a licensed clinician for over 23 years. Most recently my career has brought me to work in collaboration with GROW as a private therapist. I have been working on GROW for nearly 2 years. I also work part time as a group therapy counselor for aging adults in an intensive mental health and community outreach program. I love both occupational settings and my clients with ever growing passion.
We live in a fast-moving society, and it can be hard to keep up with all of our various adult life roles and responsibilities. Adults, young and mature, who are making mental health a priority in their lives are notably the most satisfied and happy individuals in this challenging society. I offer my clients a safe space to explore their experiences in this world, express and understand their feelings, get to know themselves on a deeper level, and learn skills to take control of their thoughts and emotions. I will often challenge my clients to intentionally practice new skills or approaches outside of our sessions. My ultimate objective is helping my clients achieve their definition of personal success and satisfaction.
I have worked with a variety of adult clients of various ages and life phases. Each phase of our adult life comes with unique challenges. I have extensive and varied experience working with adults in late stages of life, long past retirement, and clients who are nearing death. The last stage of life can be the most challenging and requires the most assistance yet there are limited services to support the mental health needs of the current aging population. This is a serious problem, and I am on a mission to be part of the solution.
I believe in the healing power of a strong therapeutic alliance. My practice is based on the conviction that with the right support, everyone can effect change in their lives. My style is caring and not judgmental; I utilize Cognitive behavioral therapy, existential therapy, and Brief Cognitive hypnosis to guide you in the process of learning new skills to manage your thoughts, emotions and behavior.
I am clinically licensed in the states of Illinois, Texas, Utah and Minnesota. I have been providing therapy through video sessions for more than three years.
I am bilingual in Spanish and English. I am a painter and a poet; I consider that Art is another wonderful tool to achieve healing.

For me, genuineness, openness, and a non-judgmental approach are essential ingredients to connect with you, support you, and guide you in your journey.

I would best describe myself as someone who seeks to provide a compassionate and effective approach to people seeking change. It takes a lot to become a therapist. I often think of a therapist as a rock in a tumbler. We spend a lot of time smoothing out our own rough edges so that we can be helpful to others. Your life is your own. I work with people to discover what they want and what's standing in their way.
I bring extensive experience from various settings, including treatment centers, community programs, group therapy, and correctional facilities, where I've had the privilege of working with adolescents, young adults, and adults. I’m committed to walking alongside my clients and their families as they navigate these difficult transitions, offering understanding and support every step of the way.
Hello, my name is Heather Stample LCSW. I have been doing therapy work for about 5 years and social work for 10 years. I love supporting and encouraging others. I want you to know how loved you are, how important you are, and to know you don’t have to keep doing this life all on your own. Sometimes, when we meet, something I say may sound confusing, but I promise you it will come full circle. I want you to be able to challenge yourself, be willing to challenge me when you feel uncertain, and be able to challenge life so you can start thriving again!

I hold a Clinical Psychologist license to practice in Illinois. I completed my doctorate studies at Adler University. My professional experience in treatment spans over 25 years. I believe a person holds the ability to transform their life for the better. I find satisfaction in helping them advance on their path. The following examples show my methods for treating anxiety and depression.
The evidence-based treatment method I use for anxiety focuses on individualized symptom-specific approaches that match the client’s needs and personal preferences. The combination of repetitive and irrational thoughts about perceived danger, uncertainty or failure creates distressing mental states which may manifest as negative thought, such as: "I am not good enough" or "something bad will happen" or "I will be fired if I make a mistake."
I assist my clients to detect and fight their negative beliefs and thoughts. I guide clients to manage their anxiety symptoms with mindfulness breathing techniques and progressive muscle relaxation methods. With assigned homework including mindfulness exercises, I guide the client to maintain their progress and self-regulation between sessions.
My depression treatment approach matches each client's symptoms, their life history, and their social environment. Depression exists on a spectrum from temporary sadness to persistent and severe Major Depressive Disorder. The maintenance of depression relies on negative thoughts such as “I am worthless” or “Nothing will ever get better.” Our focus will be to identify and modify.
Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help clients view their depressive thoughts in a non-judgmental manner to reduce their rumination and emotional distress. By teaching problem solving skills and the practice of mindfulness helps the individual become more aware of their physical tension. Assigning homework guides the individual to improve sleep hygiene, self-care, and build effective coping strategies.
Are you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or constantly on edge? Exhausted from trying to hold everything together? Do you feel like you've lost yourself somewhere along the way? Maybe you find yourself constantly overthinking, walking on eggshells, questioning your feelings, or wondering if you're the problem. Maybe you've spent too much time trying to keep the peace, understand someone else's emotions, or make a relationship work that you no longer recognize yourself.
If you’ve been in a relationship where you felt manipulated, controlled, abused, or unsafe, you're not alone. Whether you're still trying to understand what happened, recently left a difficult relationship, or are still carrying the impact years later, your experiences matter. I specialize in supporting individuals who are healing from emotional abuse, domestic violence, narcissistic abuse, and relationship trauma. I provide a safe, supportive space where you can begin to make sense of your experience, rebuild trust in yourself, strengthen your self-esteem, and reconnect with the person you were before.
You may feel confused, emotionally drained, anxious, depressed, or unsure of who you are anymore. These feelings are understandable after experiencing a relationship where your needs, feelings, or reality have been questioned or dismissed. Together, we can untangle the confusion, process what you've been through, and help you feel more grounded, confident, and in control.
My goal is not just to help you get through each day, but to help you reconnect with yourself, creating a life where you feel empowered, safe, and like yourself again.
You're not stuck. Healing is possible, and you do not have to go through it alone. I provide a warm,, down-to-earth, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel understood, supported, and comfortable being your authentic self. If you're ready to take the next step, I'd be honored to support you in your journey!

Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) based in Illinois. I received my Masters degree in 2000 and have been working in the mental health field for over 20 years. I am committed to helping adults, young adults, adolescents and older adults struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, mood disorders, and stress management issues. I am looking forward to working with individuals who need support, an open and safe space to explore issues, and compassionate care! I hope you take this brave step for yourself because you deserve it!
My name is Ana Drake and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Illinois. I have been providing therapy in treatment of anxiety, depression, anger/stress management, body image issues, coping skills, self-esteem, cultural adaptation, etc.
I completed my master's degree in mental health counseling at the University of Illinois-Springfield in 2017 and I was previously a licensed practicing therapist in Brazil before moving to the United States in 2008.
I work with clients who are struggling with grief, anxiety, depression or trauma. I also work with clients who may need assistance in processing everyday life stressors and want a supportive therapist whom they can confide in who will also challenge them and assist with problem-solving.
I also work with those facing reproductive challenges. As a compassionate and empathetic therapist, I understand the complex emotional and psychological impact that infertility and miscarriage can have. I can:
• Support you in maintaining hope, peace and positivity while navigating uncertainty and help you build resiliency as you work through obstacles.
• Help you to recognize and access your deeper intuition, so you are better equipped to honor your body, spirit and mind with the highest intention throughout your journey.
• Work with you on increasing clarity and purpose around your fertility journey.
• Utilize a holistic approach to address integrative lifestyle strategies that may be beneficial to your fertility path.
• Assist you in addressing relationship difficulties that can arise out of the stress of fertility challenges, help you develop strategies to increase intimacy with your partner and foster healthy communication.
For women and men who have experienced reproductive loss:
• The devastating and seemingly invisible pain of losing a pregnancy is unique in that it involves not only the loss of your baby, but also involves the loss of the future - and there is no accepted way to mark that loss. Sometimes it seems that friends and family members expect the person to move on quickly. Partners often grieve differently - and for men, the trauma of miscarriage is often overlooked. Also, some women may suffer guilt or shame associated with the loss that doesn't tend to occur with other types of grieving.
• There is no universal template for grief. Together, we will address your unique needs as you work through your grieving process.
Has life been feeling overwhelming lately, leaving you wishing you could talk to someone who truly listens to your worries? I enjoy helping people navigate life's challenges while they discover their inner strengths and regain hope.
