Hello. I'm a licensed clinical social worker based in Illinois. I received my master's degree in social work from Southern Illinois University in 2011 and have been providing therapy for 10 years. My specialty is working with all age groups and assisting them with coping with the emotions in a positive/healthy manner. I assist people identify life changing events from their past has affected them present day and will work on a foundation of coping skills.
The first session will be about what are the current issues and possibly begin a comprehensive assessment.
I have the ability to communicate in a way that makes a person feel safe and comfortable to be themselves. I've learned to follow the lead of the person I work with. I have the ability to read body language/micro expressions which will also assist with identifying topics that may be uncomfortable for a person to discuss.

The process does not only focus on what issue that was reported but will assist with identifying the foundation of emotional issues. Once the root of the current issue has been located the therapeutic proceed to the next phase of healing and life changes.
