Teenage years are stressful on the teen and the family. Is your teen having a hard time making healthy choices? Are they angry for no apparent reason? Is your teen a bully or are they being bullied? Parenting a teenager is difficult. I also specialize in counseling teens that identify as LGBTQ+. It can get better, with the right help. I’ve been working with teens for many years and I know how tough it can be on the teen and the parent. Imagine your teen being able to communicate their thoughts/feelings without anger or resentment. Do you relate to anxiety memes on social media? What about staying up late at night thinking about that time you told the host at that restaurant you went to years ago “you too” when they told you to “enjoy your meal?” How about all-or-nothing thinking? "I’ll never figure this out," "life will always be hard," or "I’ll never be happy." Unfortunately, so many of us do, especially women in this society. I want to help you let go of those embarrassing moments you dwell on, stop doom scrolling on social media, and accept that life can still be worth living even with painful events in it.

My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can explore your challenges, recognize your worth, and tap into the strength you already have. I’m a person-centered therapist who values building a strong, collaborative relationship as the foundation for meaningful change. Outside of therapy, I’m a proud nerd, whether that means diving into Dungeons & Dragons campaigns, getting lost in video games, or deeply analyzing fantasy worlds and storytelling. Hi, I’m Shaleatha Brown, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and U.S. Army veteran. I work with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, stress, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, emotional regulation, and life transitions. My approach to therapy is warm, down-to-earth, compassionate, and nonjudgmental. I understand that life can sometimes leave us feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of what to do next. Whether you are facing a difficult transition, struggling with your emotions, working through painful experiences, or simply wanting to better understand yourself, therapy can provide a space to slow down, reflect, and begin moving forward. My professional and life experiences have taught me the importance of resilience, perseverance, and meeting people where they are. I believe therapy should be a place where you can show up as yourself without feeling like you have to have everything figured out. I use evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care. Most importantly, I tailor therapy to you. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, recognize your strengths, develop practical tools, and make changes that support the life you want to create.

Hi, I’m Dr. Raven Scott, a Licensed Professional Counselor who believes that one of the most important parts of therapy is having a space where you feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted. My approach is empathic, collaborative, and person-centered. I strive to create an environment where you can show up authentically, without judgment and without feeling like you need to have all the answers before you begin. I have over six years of experience working with adults experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, life transitions, and other mental health challenges. I recognize that no two people experience these challenges in exactly the same way, which is why I tailor therapy to the individual rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. When appropriate, I incorporate evidence-based interventions such as EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to support your individual goals. I believe therapy works best as a partnership. You are the expert on your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you—offering support, empathy, and clinical guidance while honoring your autonomy throughout the therapeutic process. Together, we’ll create a space that honors who you are, where you are, and where you hope to go.

I’m Mariam Saibu, a somatic mental health therapist specializing in women’s mental health and the unique ways trauma, stress, and mood challenges show up in both mind and body. My goal is to create a supportive and empowering space where you can begin to heal, grow, and reconnect with yourself. I hold a Master’s degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling and maintain specialized licenses in trauma, addiction, and vocational counseling. Over the years, I’ve worked in inpatient, outpatient, and state agency settings, providing care for children, adolescents, and adults. These experiences gave me the opportunity to treat a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, self-esteem struggles, substance use, and career transitions. I have also supported individuals on the autism spectrum in building social and behavioral skills to thrive in both employment and relationships. While I have worked with diverse populations, my passion lies in supporting women—particularly those navigating trauma, mood dysregulation, and life changes. I am licensed to practice in Georgia and Texas. I integrate my background in both biology and counseling to take a holistic approach to care. By weaving together somatic practices with evidence-based therapies, I help clients address how trauma and stress impact the body as well as the mind. In our work together, you can expect compassion, collaboration, and respect. My role is to walk alongside you, providing tools and insight to help you move forward while creating a safe environment for growth. Whether you’re seeking to manage trauma, improve mood and self-esteem, or find clarity in life’s transitions, I am here to support you in creating meaningful, lasting change.

My counseling services integrate existential theory, CBT/REBT modalities, and DBT skills, with a focus on providing quality care to adults. I primarily work with concerns related to lack of meaning, trauma, anxiety, depression, and substance use disorders. While I emphasize choice and personal responsibility, I also make it a priority to validate each client’s emotional experience. I believe therapy should be about getting better, not just feeling better. To support that growth, I use active, directive, and challenging interventions designed to help clients develop the skills to ultimately help themselves.

Hi, I’m LaNae! Think of me as the therapist who brings equal parts humor, warmth, and honesty into the room. I believe therapy doesn’t have to feel stiff or scary—it can be a space where you feel comfortable, understood, and even laugh a little along the way. I’m not a one size fits all therapist. However, if I am a match we will take great strides and efforts to reach your goals.

We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Georgia from Athens to Savannah! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Georgia.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
