My journey towards becoming a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist began in 2004 when I received my B.A. in Theater from Southern Connecticut State University. Knowing it was my passion to creatively help others, I began teaching children in diverse settings including preschools, elementary schools, community centers, homes, and camps. I was introduced to Drama Therapy and Expressive Arts Therapy as an Early Childhood Educator and never looked back! As I continued working with children, families, and parents of all backgrounds over the years, I found myself becoming more intrigued with their social/emotional dynamics as opposed to the academics of the profession. My realization led me to The Chicago School of Professional Psychology where I pursued my M.A. in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Marital and Family Therapy. Since then, I’ve had many incredible opportunities to gain experience through the roles of a School Counselor, Program Therapist, Private Practice Owner, and Group Therapist. Through these experiences, I've grown immensely as a therapist by expanding the populations I work with and the specialties I’m able to offer.

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in Florida, Georgia, Kansas, and Nevada, and I also hold a Clinical Supervisor Endorsement through the National Association of Addiction Professionals. Originally a Jersey girl, I earned my BA in Psychology from Rutgers University. I started out as a middle school teacher — yep, brave soul! — but after five years, I felt called to support people in a deeper way and help them navigate life’s more personal challenges. That path led me to the University of Georgia (go DAWGS!), where I earned my Master’s in Social Work, and I’ve been in the field for over a decade now. My specialty? Helping amazing humans heal from trauma, manage anxiety or depression, overcome substance use struggles, and tackle life transitions with confidence and compassion. I believe real change happens when you feel seen, supported, and empowered — and that’s exactly what I aim to provide in every session. Let’s uncover your strengths, rewrite your story, and build a life you genuinely love. 💛 Ready when you are!

Hi, I’m Allison. Whether you’re feeling burned out, stuck in unfulfilling patterns, or having challenges in your relationships, therapy can help you recover and feel more grounded. Many of the people I work with are new to therapy. They may not have a specific diagnosis or crisis, but they know something feels “off.” Clients often tell me they feel comfortable opening up with me quickly. If you're feeling overwhelmed or disconnected, know that meaningful change is possible. Let’s work together to help you feel more content, empowered, and like yourself again. Clients often tell me they feel at ease opening up to me. Many feel relieved to have a therapist who offers active guidance, rather than just listening without direction. Finding relief and reconnecting with a sense of peace is more achievable than it might feel right now—and once you start, the process of change often unfolds more quickly than you expect. I approach therapy by looking at the root cause of problems, rather than focusing on one problem at a time. I work from a systemic perspective, which means we will dive into your personal relationships, behavior patterns, and lifestyle choices which are interconnected with the issues you may be facing. If you'd like to learn more about me and my therapy methods, feel free to visit my website at www.mindtalkhealing.com
