Greetings and welcome to my page. Taking that first step to seek help can be tough, especially when you're trying to find the right therapist. Allow me to introduce myself and provide you with a summary of my experience. My name is Florence, and I am a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 27 years of experience in Social Work practice. I believe that every person’s journey is unique, which is why I use an integrative, individualized approach to therapy. By drawing from a variety of evidence-based treatment methods, I tailor each session to meet your specific needs, goals, and life experiences. My practice is grounded in trauma-informed care and cultural sensitivity, creating a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered. I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, academic concerns, chronic illness adjustment, caregiver stress, diabetes-related behavioral health concerns, and issues related to aging and later life. I am especially passionate about helping young people develop the emotional and social skills needed to thrive. Whether you are seeking support for yourself or your child, my goal is to help build resilience, strengthen self-confidence, improve emotional well-being, and develop healthy coping strategies that promote lasting growth and healing. Together, we can work toward overcoming obstacles, discovering strengths, and creating meaningful change that supports a healthier, more fulfilling life.
During the initial session, I conduct an introductory process aimed at establishing rapport and understanding the client's therapy history and perspectives. I inquire whether they have previous therapy experience and seek insight into their desired outcomes. Additionally, I prioritize outlining ethical practices regarding confidentiality, emphasizing the therapeutic space as safe and non-judgmental. My primary goal is to engage the client and foster a sense of comfort and trust. By the session's conclusion, the client gains clarity on the therapeutic process and what to anticipate in future sessions.
I place great emphasis on professional development, actively seeking out training opportunities to enhance my skill set and stay abreast of current research trends. Continually exploring diverse treatment methods is integral to my professional approach. This commitment to exploration allows me to integrate innovative techniques and evidence-based practices into my therapeutic repertoire, ensuring that I can offer comprehensive and effective support to those I serve. Moreover, I am engaged in learning another language and consistently deepen my understanding of diverse cultures and sub-cultures. My passion for learning drives me to continuously expand my knowledge base. I approach my work with flexibility, unwavering commitment, and an open-minded perspective, always striving to foster the best outcomes for those I serve. My genuine care for people is at the core of my practice, and I derive immense fulfillment from the opportunity to positively impact others through my work.
In my professional practice, I specialize in providing comprehensive mental health support to both adults and adolescents, although I particularly value face-to-face interaction when working with children. My expertise encompasses a broad spectrum of mental health concerns, including mood disorders, anxiety, OCD, trauma-related issues, grief, and loss. Additionally, I am adept at addressing challenges related to life transitions, school difficulties, fears, self-esteem, weight management, and individuals coping with long-term medical conditions. Through a client-centered approach, I am committed to empowering individuals to navigate these concerns and achieve holistic well-being.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive behavioral therapy is a therapeutic intervention that can help reduce symptoms by helping clients become aware of how their thoughts can impact their feelings and behaviors. In using this method, I have been able to help clients understand that they are not their thoughts and have taught clients to reality test and look for evidences when struggling with a belief. I have found this model particularly effective when addressing depression, suicide and anxiety.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
This method is effective for a variety of needs. Solution focused therapy is designed to be brief, solution and goal oriented, time and cost effective. SFT works well with clients who commit to their sessions and assigned home work. It offers opportunities for skill building, fast results and positive outcomes. I have derived immense satisfaction from my collaborative efforts with clients utilizing Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), witnessing their dedicated endeavors as they strive towards and ultimately attain their predetermined objectives.
Strength-Based
With years of experience, I have consistently employed a strength-based approach in treatment, prioritizing the empowerment of clients by steering away from labels and focusing on their inherent strengths. This therapeutic modality proves particularly effective when working with individuals grappling with issues such as low self-esteem and an underdeveloped sense of self. By emphasizing clients' strengths and capabilities, this approach facilitates a sense of empowerment and resilience, fostering meaningful progress towards personal growth and fulfillment
Grief Therapy
In my professional experience, I have engaged with clients navigating diverse forms of loss, encompassing bereavement, career transitions, relationship dissolution, and unmet aspirations resulting from accidents or medical circumstances. Assisting individuals in managing the multifaceted array of physical, emotional, and spiritual reactions to these losses has been deeply gratifying. In my therapeutic practice, I recognize the profound impact of grief, which can often manifest as debilitating for individuals. As a therapist, my commitment lies in providing unwavering support to clients as they navigate the complexities inherent in the grief process. Employing empathetic and humanistic methodologies, I aim to facilitate their journey through the various stages and challenges of bereavement. Central to this approach is the validation of their emotions and experiences, fostering a safe and empathetic space for healing and growth.
Integrative
In my clinical practice, I have found great utility in adopting an integrative approach. This methodology affords me the flexibility to draw upon a diverse range of therapeutic tools and techniques tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. By integrating elements from various treatment modalities, I am equipped to provide comprehensive and personalized care, optimizing the effectiveness of interventions to best support the therapeutic journey of my clients.
