I believe healing begins with understanding. Many of the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that bring people to therapy are not signs of weakness or failure—they are often adaptations that developed in response to difficult experiences, stress, or adversity. While these patterns may have helped you cope or protect yourself at one point in your life, they can sometimes create challenges in relationships, work, and overall well-being.
My approach is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and collaborative. I strive to create a space where clients feel understood, supported, and empowered to explore their experiences without judgment. Together, we will work to understand not only what is happening in your life, but also why certain patterns may have developed and whether they continue to serve you today.
Earlier experiences in my own life taught me that adversity can shape the way we view ourselves, others, and the world around us. Through these experiences, I developed a deep appreciation for how the mind and nervous system adapt to help us navigate challenges. The mind is designed to prioritize safety and survival, and many of the symptoms people experience are understandable responses to difficult circumstances rather than character flaws. While these adaptations may have been necessary at one point, healing often involves learning new ways of responding that better support the life you want to build.
I work with individuals experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, stress, and self-esteem concerns. My goal is to help clients increase self-awareness, build resilience, strengthen boundaries, and develop practical tools for lasting change. Together, we can help you better understand yourself, reconnect with your strengths, and move forward with greater confidence, flexibility, and self-compassion.
Hi this is Carol. I am a licensed independent clinical social worker in eight states. My career started in Pennsylvania where I attended Chestnut Hill College and received my Master's in Counseling Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy Option. It continued in upstate Pennsylvania where I attended Elmira College (M.S.Ed) and attended SUNY University of Buffalo (MSW). I capped those off with a Psy.D. from Cal Southern University, Magnum Cum Laude 2012. I hold an LCSW in PA, VA, NC, TX, IL and FL. I hold an LISW-CP in South Carolina, and LICSW in RI and MA. I facilitate stress reduction meditations several times weekly on an internet platform for Mindful Leaders. I am a certified AADC in South Carolina. I am trained in EMDR methods including their substance, pain control, and grief and loss protocols. All licensures and certifications are current. I am trained in MBSR, am a certified workplace mindfulness facilitator and have almost completed my MBCT certification. I am a trainer for www.loveandlogic.com in these areas: Parenting the Love and Logic Way and 9 Essential Skills for the Love and Logic Classroom
I believe meaningful change comes from understanding not only what we do, but why we do it. My practice is grounded primarily in psychodynamic psychotherapy, which focuses on identifying the deeper emotional, relational, and unconscious patterns that shape how we experience ourselves, others, and the world. Many of the struggles people face today, including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, addiction, and recurring life patterns, often have roots in earlier experiences that continue to influence present-day thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we work to understand these patterns so they no longer have to dictate your life.
Rather than focusing solely on symptom reduction, I aim to help clients develop greater emotional insight, strengthen their capacity to regulate difficult emotions, improve relationships, and build a more cohesive and authentic sense of self. I believe lasting psychological change occurs when we understand the underlying dynamics that drive our reactions instead of simply learning to manage them.
While psychodynamic therapy serves as the foundation of my work, I also integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) when it is clinically appropriate. CBT can provide practical strategies for challenging unhelpful thinking patterns, reducing symptoms, and building healthier behavioral habits while complementing the deeper exploratory work of psychodynamic therapy.
I strive to create a therapeutic relationship that is thoughtful, collaborative, and emotionally attuned. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, addiction, personality difficulties, relationship concerns, or simply feel stuck in repeating the same patterns, therapy provides an opportunity to better understand yourself, develop greater resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change.

"Support for the woman who constantly cares for others. If you feel overwhelmed and stretched thin, I’m here to help you regain your balance and well-being."
My calling to this work comes from my own experience of holding everything in, carrying the weight of caring for others, and hiding my own exhaustion. For a long time, I understood what it meant to keep going even when I needed a break, to put others' needs before my own, and to believe I had to handle everything on my own.
Through my own growth and continued practice, I have learned the importance of self-care, self-compassion, and giving myself permission to slow down. I've learned that asking for help is not a sign of weakness, and that taking a break does not mean I'm falling behind. These experiences have deepened my passion for helping other women who find themselves caught in the same cycle of giving, doing, and carrying-while quietly putting their own needs last. I believe you can care deeply for the people you love without losing yourself in the process.

These experiences can make anyone wonder who they are, how they relate to others, how they make decisions, and how they deal with grief, change, and conflict.
Life keeps giving me chances to adjust to changes in my body, feelings, thoughts, and spirit. Some days are easier than others, and that’s just part of being human. I see it as a way to keep getting stronger, more flexible, and better at handling life. When my emotions feel really strong, I may feel pulled in different directions. I do not believe in a "one size fits all" approach. While uncomfortable feelings might be a commonality (especially in today's world), I believe we are all individuals who learn, experience, and react to situations differently. One thing I know for sure, if everything was going "great" chances are you would not be reading this bio right now. BRAVO to you for taking this monumental step and investing in yourself!!!
Hi, I'm Masha Andreoni, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida with 14+ years of professional/educational experience and 49+ years of lived experience. A majority of my work experience has been spent working with Veterans and Active Duty Reservists focusing on post deployment issues, substance use/abuse, and military sexual trauma. Today, I work with individuals/groups/families within a multitude of populations.
Most importantly, I do not believe that individuals fit snuggly into a particular mental health "box." For example, if diagnosed with PTSD... there is a good chance that anxiety, depression, insomnia, relationship difficulties, work-related issues (etc.) may be present. If struggling with addictions...anxiety, depression insomnia, relationship difficulties, work-related issues (etc.) may be present (you get it). My focus/goal is to understand where you are coming from, what you hope to achieve, avoid making any particular judgements/labels, and work together as we embrace this journey of solution focused change and betterment.
While I can take the time to tell you how my approach is warm, motivating, understanding, open....in the end, this is for you to decide. I can however assure you that regardless of diplomas achieved, I never stop pursuing education in this ever-changing field/world. I am here to be of service. With me comes my personality, knowledge, humor (when appropriate), and respect! Truly looking forward to working with you.

Growth begins when you stop fighting alone.
I’m Dr. Terry Matz, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over two decades of experience serving military Veterans, active-duty service members, and their families. As both a former Army Behavioral Health Officer and seasoned civilian therapist, I specialize in treating trauma, PTSD, depression, and life transitions using evidence-based therapies like CBT and supportive approaches. I aim to provide a compassionate, culturally competent space where healing, growth, and resilience are possible.
I am a therapist who enjoys building a relationship with my clients by finding how to best understand each other. We may not share a background, but practicing curiosity from a position of genuine interest helps me better understand the people around me and form rapid connections. I believe knowledge and language have power so that the way we think and the information we use to think help us view what we think as changeable and adjust it to be more helpful.
