New to Grow
Dr. Christopher Sanchez believes therapy is most effective when clients feel heard, respected, and supported. He works primarily with adults and specialize in health psychology, using a biopsychosocial perspective to understand the connection between physical health, emotions, and daily life. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based approaches, he provides compassionate, patient-centered care in a collaborative and nonjudgmental environment where clients can build resilience and create meaningful lasting change.
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We’ll discuss what brings you to therapy, your personal history, current concerns, and what you hope to achieve. I understand that starting therapy can feel overwhelming, so my goal is to create a welcoming, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you feel comfortable sharing at your own pace. Together, we’ll begin identifying goals and developing a treatment plan tailored to your unique needs.
I strive to create a therapeutic relationship built on trust, respect, and collaboration. My clients often describe me as calm, supportive, and easy to talk to, while also appreciating that I encourage them to reflect, challenge unhelpful patterns, and try new ways of coping. I use evidence-based approaches such as CBT, ACT, and mindfulness, always adapting treatment to fit your unique needs, strengths, and values.
I work best with adults who are navigating the emotional impact of health concerns, chronic illness, stress, anxiety, or major life transitions. Many of my clients are looking for practical tools to improve their well-being while gaining a deeper understanding of how their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and physical health interact. Whether you’re adjusting to a new diagnosis, managing ongoing stress, or simply wanting to live more intentionally, we’ll work together to create meaningful, lasting change.
Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps you understand how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another. Together, we’ll identify unhelpful thinking patterns and develop practical strategies to manage challenges, improve coping, and create healthier habits that support your goals.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) focuses on helping you respond to difficult thoughts and emotions with greater flexibility rather than letting them control your life. Together, we’ll identify what matters most to you and build skills to help you move toward a life that reflects your values, even during challenging times.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Mindfulness-based therapy helps you become more aware of your thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations without judging them. Through simple mindfulness practices, you’ll learn to manage stress, stay present, and respond to life’s challenges with greater calm, clarity, and self-compassion.
Psychoeducation
Understanding why you’re experiencing certain thoughts, emotions, or behaviors can be an important part of healing. I provide education about mental health, stress, and the mind-body connection so you can better understand your experiences, make informed decisions, and feel more confident using new coping strategies.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy emphasizes your strengths and the progress you’re already capable of making. Rather than focusing only on problems, we’ll identify practical, achievable steps that help you move toward your goals and build on what’s already working in your life.
