I believe you are the expert on your own life and I consider it a great privilege to be able to do this work alongside you. Many people come to therapy feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unfulfilled. I hope therapy can be a space where you can experience compassion and be reminded of your strengths. If you need support in healing from your past, having difficulty navigating your present situation or wanting to set goals for a better future - therapy can be the vehicle to get you there. I work to explore patterns that no longer serve you and develop practical ways to move toward what you truly want your life to look like. I have experience supporting adults with a range of mental health concerns, including substance use. I’m passionate about helping you reach your highest potential and build a life that feels meaningful & fulfilling. If you’re feeling stuck in patterns that are holding you back, you don’t have to navigate it alone. Maybe your life has changed in a way you never expected and now you need to figure out how to keep going. Let's work together and create goals to begin building the kind of life you truly want. When you're ready, I’d be honored to support you in that process.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, my goal is to create a warm and open environment so you can feel comfortable in sharing what made you decide to come into therapy. I always love to ask what it would look like for you at the end of this journey if therapy worked. Then, I strive to collaborate with you in creating therapy goals to move us closer to the outcome you describe.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I think my greatest strength is my compassionate and friendly nature. I really honor being allowed into your world and it is not something I take lightly. I always approach our time together with warmth and curiosity while keeping your goals in mind. I aim to continuously remind you we are working collaboratively to get you what you want out of this experience, so I make it easy for you to give me feedback on how you are feeling about your progress.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I'm passionate about working with people who really want to see a change in their lives. Perhaps life right now is not the way you pictured it would be and we can work to shift your perspective or get you closer to where you want to be. I love coming alongside people who are curious and open to applying what you learn in session to your day-to-day. While therapy can be a space of discovery and healing, I believe the real impact happens when you integrate those discoveries.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

My Master's thesis involved the benefits of ACT and I've been including this treatment method in practice ever since. I love teaching skills to help you develop more flexibility which can reduce emotional distress. ACT can help reduce overthinking, anxiety, depression, and stress while allowing you to focus on meaningful actions aligned with your values.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is at the core of my practice. I believe noticing the connection between our thoughts, feelings and behaviors can be impactful. CBT empowers you to take back control of your thoughts and behaviors, enhancing resilience, emotional regulation, and overall well-being.

Compassion Focused

I draw from this treatment method to help you enhance emotional regulation, reduce anxiety, and improve mood. Some of the techniques I gravitate towards include slow & mindful breathing, grounding techniques, positive focus and compassionate letter writing.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I integrate this framework to create a safe and inclusive therapeutic environment that honors your cultural identity while supporting mental health and personal growth. I acknowledge that you are the expert on your own cultural experience including race, religion, gender, and class.

Eclectic

I've always gravitated towards using a combination of techniques from multiple therapeutic approaches tailored to your own unique needs. I believe therapy should not be one-size fits all, so I do my best to customize my approach to your specific goals, personality and circumstances. Some additional approaches I draw from include narrative therapy, trauma-focused, mindfulness, motivational interviewing and solution-focused.
