I am a caring and compassionate therapist with over nine years of experience in mental health counseling. As a Navy veteran, I bring a strong sense of discipline, resilience, and empathy to my practice. I am also a life-long learner committed to staying informed on the most effective therapeutic approaches. My work is rooted in cultural competence, and I strive to create a safe, supportive space for clients of all backgrounds. I’m here to help you navigate life’s challenges, build emotional resilience, and move toward your personal goals with clarity and confidence.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session together is the beginning of a journey—because just like Rome wasn’t built in a day, healing and personal growth take time, patience, and care. This initial meeting is all about setting you up for success. We'll start by getting to know each other, building rapport, and creating a space where you feel comfortable and supported. I’ll gather some background information to better understand your experiences, challenges, and what has brought you to counseling. From there, we’ll begin to identify your goals—keeping in mind that these goals are flexible and can evolve as our work together grows. Therapy is a collaborative process, and the first session is our foundation for building a therapeutic relationship rooted in trust, honesty, and a shared commitment to your emotional and mental well-being.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a provider, my greatest strengths lie in my ability to help clients gain deeper insight and self-awareness, which are essential for meaningful and lasting change. I am skilled at creating a supportive and nonjudgmental space that encourages exploration and growth. I also focus on helping clients identify and work toward their personal goals with clarity and confidence.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am best positioned to serve individual adult clients aged 18 and older who are ready to actively engage in improving their mental health and overall well-being. I work well with clients experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, or life transitions. Whether you're seeking greater self-awareness, emotional healing, or practical strategies for managing daily challenges, I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space for meaningful growth and change.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a structured, evidence-based approach to support clients in identifying and challenging unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to emotional distress and maladaptive behaviors. In my practice, I use CBT to help clients build insight into the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and actions. I guide clients in recognizing cognitive distortions, reframing negative self-talk, and developing healthier coping strategies. CBT is integrated through thought records, behavioral activation, psychoeducation, and skills practice both in-session and as homework. It is particularly effective for treating symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress, and I adapt it to each client’s individual needs and goals.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I use Person-Centered Therapy as a foundational approach in my practice by creating a warm, nonjudgmental, and empathetic environment where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts and emotions. I focus on building a strong therapeutic alliance and support clients in identifying their own strengths and solutions. This approach allows clients to lead the direction of sessions while I offer unconditional positive regard, active listening, and reflective responses to foster personal growth and self-awareness.
