I have a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a second Masters degree in Psychology with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis. I have worked in inpatient, outpatient, school, home, crisis and private practice facilities. Social work chose me! When I wrote my personal essay for my MSW, I realized social work had always surrounded me. I remember helping elderly neighbors, teaching friends how to count money, and researching services for my autistic brother. There were so many events between those gaps and yet to come. I always desired to help people. My brother’s diagnosis widened my eyes to my calling, but life had other plans for me and I became a secretary. As a secretary, I found myself being hired in the mental health arena, including the areas of AIDS research, mental health, addiction services, and college counseling. Social work is my second career but it's always been my first passion. I pull from both my personal and professional experiences and allow these experiences to teach and mold me.
