I'm Kenisha, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a passion for helping people who have been strong for everyone else finally have someone in their corner. I specialize in two groups who are often overlooked: high-functioning women navigating anxiety, burnout, and life transitions, and special needs parents who pour everything into their child while their own wellbeing goes unattended. My approach is warm, honest, and practical — we don't just talk about your feelings, we actually work through them and build tools that show up in your real life. I offer telehealth therapy across Louisiana and Florida and am in-network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and UnitedHealthcare.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is all about you — no pressure, no paperwork overload, just a real conversation. I'll start by getting to know what's brought you here and what you're hoping to feel or experience differently. We'll talk about your goals, what life looks like right now, and anything that feels heavy or stuck. I'll share how I work and what our sessions together will look like. Whether you're a high-functioning woman who has been holding everything together quietly, or a special needs parent who hasn't had anyone ask how YOU are doing in a long time — this first session is your space to finally be honest about where you are. You don't have to have it all figured out before we start. You just have to show up.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strength is my ability to make people feel genuinely seen — not assessed, not managed, but truly heard. Clients often tell me they've never been able to talk this openly before, and that's exactly the environment I work hard to create. I specialize in two specific groups who are often overlooked in the mental health space: high-functioning women who look fine on the outside but are quietly running on empty, and special needs parents who pour everything into their child while their own wellbeing goes unattended. My approach blends CBT, strength-based therapy, and culturally responsive care in a way that is warm and practical — we don't just talk about feelings, we actually work through them and build tools that show up in your real life. Clients describe me as easy to talk to, direct without being harsh, and genuinely invested in their growth. My goal is never just to help you cope — it's to help you actually feel better.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who may feel overwhelmed by the weight of daily responsibilities, stress, or unexpected life changes, but is ready to take steps toward healing and growth. I work best with individuals who want a supportive, down-to-earth therapist to help them build practical coping skills, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and find healthier ways to manage life’s ups and downs. Whether you’re a parent balancing multiple roles, a young adult navigating transitions, or someone seeking relief from anxiety or stress, I provide a safe, encouraging space where you can feel understood and empowered.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have extensive experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients identify the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. For high-functioning women, this often looks like uncovering the hidden anxiety driving their productivity and perfectionism. For special needs parents, it looks like challenging the guilt and catastrophic thinking that comes with caregiving. I don't just teach CBT concepts — I help clients apply them to their actual lives so they leave sessions with real tools they can use the same day.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use Solution Focused Brief Therapy to help clients shift their focus from what's wrong to what's possible. Rather than spending months analyzing the past, we identify your strengths, clarify what you want your life to look like, and build practical steps to get there. This approach works especially well for special needs parents and high-functioning women who are action-oriented and ready to make changes — they don't need to be fixed, they need a clear path forward.

I appreciate Kenisha taking time out to listen to me and not look at me as being crazy because I'm not just having a emotional time.

Seeking the right therapist takes time but Kenisha presented herself as a person and not just a therapist. Thus, allowing the ability to be open, present, and honest .
