A good therapist will not shame or blame you; will not try to become your parent or your buddy. They will cheer you on your journey and at times, help you see yourself in a new and different way. They will not do the work for you. They will help you keep accountable to yourself and the goals you create together in the work. They will encourage clear communication, authenticity, patience and compassion both for yourself and others. Accountability is a necessary part of any therapeutic relationship. I require at least 24 hours' notice prior to cancelling your scheduled appointment. Same day cancellations or no shows are subject to a Grow therapy fee of $50. Similarly, if I have to cancel within 24 hours' notice your next session will be free. The therapy process is engaged, dynamic and can be immensely satisfying.
