Hello, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received my Master's Degree from the University of Maryland School of Social Work. I am a licensed LCSW. I have worked in the Mental Health field for over 30 years and have experience in Outpatient, Inpatient and Private Practice Settings. My experience has allowed me to work with many different types of clients. I provide individual therapy.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will allow us to have brief introductions and then discuss the situations or problems that are causing distress. The session will be non-judgmental, respectful and positive. We will determine the primary goals of your therapy and we will jointly develop a plan for our follow up sessions. Time spent will focus on discussing your concerns, without judgment and exploring and developing positive patterns of behavior and thought that can often lead us to develop new skills and a better understanding of the emotions we are experiencing. Goals will be jointly established based on the needs of the client. This is your time to safely express your hopes and fears and find a way forward.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have many years of experience as a practicing therapist and have treated many different diagnoses and types of clients. I have respect and empathy for others and the difficulties that they are experiencing. I see my role as developing a supportive alliance with the client to help improve their situation. I tailor the sessions to the individual and together we review the main issues and goals for the therapy.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Together with the client, we look at their beliefs and thoughts. Distorted thoughts can lead to negative feelings and possibly Depression and Anxiety.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

This therapy centers on the individual and we safely look at the client's thoughts, experiences and emotions. It is a process of self-discovery and growth. The client is encouraged to become more self-aware and develop insight into their situation. Feelings, values and goals are explored.
