Hi, I am so glad you have decided to take a step in healing from your past. I specialize in working with people who grew up in families where there was some type of instability or turmoil. This could have been from addiction, mental health, abuse, neglect, anger, poverty, foster care placement, religious trauma or anything that caused some form of trauma. Oftentimes times those who grew up in this type of situation feel responsible for it or that somehow they should have fixed it.

I am a steadfast advocate for LGBTQ+ clients and families and racial and social justice. Building great relationships is one of the most meaningful aspects of life. Hello future client! My name is Ruthie and I'm one of those rare native Floridians. My primary practice approach is relational, using interventions that can help you understand the link between your thoughts, feelings and actions and the effect on your relationships. This will improve your ability to connect with others in ways that will enhance your life. I want to support you to have the loving, fulfilling, respectful relationships you deserve. In my graduate program, I learned that all human behavior develops in the context of relationships. Family relationships are most significant to individual growth. The importance of healthy relationships in a successful life is often underestimated. The value of independence in our society overshadows our human need for connections. The quality of our family, friends, romantic, work and community connections impact our physical, mental and emotional health. Positive interactions promote feelings of connectedness and a sense of self-worth while negative encounters can lead to increased anxiety, a lack of self-confidence, and may even affect your thinking abilities. I earned a BA in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences from University of South Florida in 2009 and obtained a Master’s in Social Work from the University of New England in 2016. I proudly became a licensed therapist in 2020, one good thing that occurred during the Covid pandemic.

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by anxiety, stuck in depression, quick to anger, or frustrated in your relationships — you’re not alone. Many of the people I work with feel like something just isn’t working, but they can’t quite explain why. Often, these struggles come from early experiences where emotions were ignored, dismissed, or too much for the adults around us to handle. As children, we learn fast: if expressing emotions doesn’t feel safe or accepted, we push them down. Over time, that emotional disconnection can turn into anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, or anger that feels hard to control. My work focuses on helping you understand where these patterns come from and how to shift them. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety that won’t quiet down, depression that feels heavy, anger that shows up too fast, or relationship challenges that keep repeating — we’ll work together to untangle the deeper story and build healthier ways of coping, connecting, and feeling. This isn’t just about managing symptoms — it’s about helping you reconnect with the parts of yourself that have been shut down for too long.

There is one thing I am gifted at and that’s touching the lives of others through therapy. A wise man once said, “Mental strength is not the ability to stay out of the darkness; it’s the ability to sit present in the darkness knowing that the light will shine again”. I am an influencer of change and a strong believer that your perspective will take you as far as you can see.

Hey there! I’m so proud of you for taking this step in your healing journey, it’s not always easy, but it’s so worth it! I’m Dana Cila, a Licensed Clinical Therapist and the founder of Healing Convos. As a millennial therapist, I know firsthand how overwhelming life can feel when you’re caught up in hustle culture, societal pressures, and the challenges of just adulting. Whether it’s navigating toxic work environments, going through friendship or relationship breakups, or feeling like you always have to be “on,” it’s exhausting. That’s why I’m here to help you prioritize you. Together, we’ll work on: • Letting go of hustle culture: Embracing rest and redefining success on your terms. • Solo dating: Showing up for yourself and learning how to truly love and prioritize you. • Setting boundaries: Saying no without guilt and protecting your energy. • Walking away from what no longer serves you: Jobs, relationships, habits, whatever it is. • Healing from friendship breakups: Because losing a friend can hurt just as much as any other loss. • Dealing with toxic work environments: Finding ways to protect your mental health while you thrive. • Living the soft life: Embracing joy, peace, and intentional living as acts of self-love. I created Healing Convos to give Millennials and Gen Zers, especially men and women of color, a safe space to explore these challenges and find their voice. My approach is all about empowering you to step away from societal pressures and step into a life that’s aligned with your values. If you’re ready to stop chasing and start living a life that feels intentional, joyful, and yours, I’m here for you. Let’s create your soft life together, you’ve got this!

Welcome! Thank you for checking out this space. My name is Tammy. If you have struggled with traditional talk therapies and feel like they haven't always met your needs then you are at the right spot. I use several different evidence based modalities to help reset your nervous systems, update the way your mind had been processing information to clear out trauma or lingering emotions that have been stuck on. I believe we all have had those times where we ask ourselves; why can't I just get myself to start or stop doing (______) fill in the blank. It is because where we are conscious of things is not where things are being caused. Ready to develop skills and understand yourself in a way that helps you move into the desired behavior you have been wanting, release emotions and energy that no longer are serving a purpose for you greater good. Then let's meet to discuss your personal needs further and go from there!

Welcome! I am Carolyne Cole, a marriage and family counselor. I specialize in marriage and family therapy. I also work with young adults and seniors who are bravely taking steps toward bringing positive change into their lives. My approach to therapy is pretty eclectic. I use principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Narrative Therapy. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy will help you shut down unhelpful distortions about yourself and provide personal coping strategies that will support problem-solving in your life. Narrative Therapy will help you identify your values and skills so that you can use them to confront current and future challenges. I also offer spiritual counseling if you are seeking to explore or solidify your spiritual beliefs. I am also a Certified Grief Therapist. I began my calling in mental health following my retirement from a 35 year career in education. I am a published author and I hold a master’s degree in American Studies, and I have earned the distinguished National Board Certification in English Education. I have taught in public and private schools, community colleges, and universities in both Florida and Eastern Europe. All these experiences have widened my understanding and make it easier to relate to a variety of people and cultures. It also makes it easy for me to connect with you. I am a native Floridian, married for 44 years to a former University of South Florida professor, so I understand what it means to live life and overcome challenges in the Sunshine State. My heart is to support you wherever you are on your journey, ease your worries about the future, and give you practical tools to heal.

You are here hoping to find that therapist who stands out to you because you want to find someone who can help you. The search can be overwhelming for some. Most of the profiles of therapists are going to say similar things. Most of which should be standard like brakes on a car. I cannot promise I'm the right one for you. Here is what I can tell you about my approach. I believe in being practical which means I will not use a lot of psycho-babble or fancy strategies. I have a tendency to be blunt. My wife says I'm the "bluntest politest man" she has ever met. I'm going to be real with you. I love couples/marriage counseling, and that is my main focus. However, about half of my clients have always been individuals. Some people just need a place to vent. Others need help solving a problem, and most people need a little of both. I know therapy might be a little intimidating or even scary to some. Try to think of it as a massage for your brain. It's a place where you can say whatever you want guilt-free.
