I began my career working with youth and families in residential settings, where I saw firsthand the impact our experiences can have on how we move through the world. My own life experiences also shaped my path to becoming a therapist and taught me the importance of feeling seen, understood, and supported. Over the years, this has shaped an approach that looks at the whole person—their story, strengths, relationships, and the experiences that have made them who they are.

You are the one everyone depends on. Impressive on paper, composed on the outside, and carrying far more than most people realize. You keep showing up and making things work. But privately, you may have the 3 a.m. mental replay, a mind that will not turn off, difficulty setting boundaries, resentment from carrying too much, or the realization that you are everyone's priority except your own. I'm Dr. Dezetta Burnett, DSW, LCSW. I work with accomplished women and professionals navigating anxiety, overthinking, burnout, relationship patterns, family dynamics, grief, fertility treatment, IVF or IUI, and major life transitions. I am especially skilled at helping high-functioning adults identify the underlying dynamics that often go unexamined precisely because life on the outside appears successful. You may understand your patterns intellectually and still find yourself repeating them. My approach is direct, thoughtful, and practical. We look beneath the immediate problem, understand what is driving it, and identify what needs to change. You do not have to be in crisis. Sometimes functioning well is no longer enough. If you are preparing for or undergoing IVF or IUI and need an earlier appointment, schedule my next available opening and message me. I will do my best to accommodate you sooner.

I’m a licensed professional counselor with 20 years of experience in community mental health settings. As a therapist and behavioral health practitioner, I have worked with complex trauma, psychosis, mood disorders, anxiety, depression, and co-occurring substance use. I have a masters degree in clinical psychology from the University of Amsterdam and lived in the Netherlands for six years. There, I also began building my family, and that international foundation shaped both how I think and how I work. I work with adults navigating a wide range of life challenges — from anxiety, depression, and relationship patterns to identity, major transitions, and the quieter but persistent sense that something just isn’t working. This includes people working through faith transitions or untangling the psychological weight of a strict or high-control religious upbringing — something I understand not just clinically, but personally. Whether you’re in crisis or simply ready to understand yourself better, I meet people where they are.

Whether you’re working to improve a relationship, make a difficult decision, break unhealthy patterns, or face a personal challenge, you deserve support — and change is possible. I help clients identify patterns in their struggles and successes, so they can understand themselves more fully and move forward with greater clarity and strength. My therapeutic approach draws from evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, attachment theory, psychodynamic principles, and strength-based practices. Together, we’ll focus on building self-compassion while working through the areas that feel stuck or painful. In session, I am an active and engaged therapist. I bring warmth and compassion, and I’m also direct when needed — offering honest feedback in the spirit of growth and support. We will co-create a space where you feel safe, respected, and free of judgment — a space to explore, reflect, and begin to ease emotional pain. In addition to English, I speak and write fluently in Farsi. I work exclusively with individual adults.

Hello, I’m Sascha, If you’re here, you’ve already taken an important step toward prioritizing your mental health. Beginning therapy can bring up a mix of emotions...empowerment, uncertainty, even hesitation—and all of that is valid. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience in the mental health field. My background includes work in county-based services, nonprofit mental health, foster care, and school settings. These experiences have allowed me to support individuals across a wide range of needs and life circumstances. I believe that people generally have an internal sense of what they need and where they want to go, but at times can feel stuck or unsure how to move forward. My role is to help you gain clarity around what may be contributing to that feeling and to work collaboratively with you to develop practical, meaningful ways to navigate challenges. Life stressors such as relationship dynamics, limited support systems, past experiences, and difficulties with emotional regulation can all impact our ability to function in the ways we want. In our work together, I aim to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where we can explore these areas and move toward greater stability, insight, and fulfillment.

As a child I was always very sensitive and curious about the world that surrounded me. It came natural to help people and I knew that I wanted to give back to the world at large. Just like you I suffered from some childhood wounds. My parents did the best they could with the tools they had. But due to their struggles I became a very codependent child wanting to save and fix my parents to simply gain the love I desired. Later on I would be able to understand this cycle and name some of the patterns I lived out. People pleasing, losing myself in toxic relationships and not fully loving that little girl inside of me. Once I became a LMFT and gained the knowledge and tools necessary I was not only able to break my own patterns, I was also able to help others find joy and deep meaning in their lives. Ultimately I specialize in helping people understand their patterns and be more effective communicators in their world. My role has been a guide and coach for my clients, providing innovative approaches based on Gestalt Method, Ancient Forgiveness Techniques, Psychodynamic Therapy, NLP and Hypnosis. I use these techniques to help my clients break patterns, many of which are fear based as a result of early childhood trauma that causes emotional issues in the present. This is deep and powerful work, and is necessary to enable a positive path to desired future. I look forward to working with you and guiding you on the path to healing and freedom.

Hello and welcome to Careful Heart Counseling Services. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I believe healing happens when people feel seen, supported, and safe enough to be honest about what they’re carrying. My practice focuses on children, adolescents, and teens. I work with youth ages 5–18, helping them develop emotional awareness, healthy coping skills, communication, and behavioral strategies while creating a safe space for them to express what they may not always have the words to say. I also support the parents and caregivers who are trying to balance work, family, relationships, and their own wellbeing. Because supporting a child often means supporting the people caring for them, I believe in working collaboratively with families to strengthen connection, communication, and understanding. With more than eight years of clinical experience and 15 years serving Sacramento County’s community-based mental health and social service systems, I bring both clinical expertise and a heart centered approach to my work.

My approach draws on Jungian thinking, which revolves on one central idea: much of what we think and feel remains outside of our awareness. Sometimes we keep powerful feelings hidden so we can continue moving through the day, or we simply cannot find time to reflect on everything that is happening to us. In any case, keeping these potent experiences hidden may leave us feeling stiff, dreary, unfulfilled, or even numb and dull. I offer emotional attunement and embodied wisdom. Clients come away from sessions with self-trust, and more secure boundary-wise self-care. Jungian therapist wouldn't treat these as a checklist to march through — more like threads to follow wherever they lead, since the goal is less "fixing a pattern" and more understanding what the pattern is for, psychically.

I help people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, ADHD, and other mental disorders. I help them further develop their mindfulness, assertive communication skills, and capacity for love & respect for themselves, and, consequently, the rest of the world. I don't merely believe in therapy, I know first-hand the beneficial power it can provide. Before seeking mental health services for myself, I not only suffered from low self-esteem, I also experienced severe panic attacks. I am, and forever will be, grateful each and every day that those symptoms now only exist in my past. These are just a few of the reasons why mental health is by far my greatest passion in life.

I work exclusively with women for individual therapy and also offer couples therapy on a self-pay basis for partners who want to strengthen their connection, improve communication, and navigate challenges together. Couples therapy is not billed through insurance. I specialize in attachment, emotions, self-worth, and relationship patterns, including anxiety, grief, anger, shame, and difficulty feeling connected to yourself or others. Over the past 7+ years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting clients as they gain a deeper understanding of themselves, break patterns that no longer serve them, build confidence, strengthen their boundaries, and develop healthier, more meaningful connections. My hope is to create a space where you feel seen, understood, and supported—not only in navigating what is difficult, but in reconnecting with who you are and moving toward the life and relationships you want.

Hello, I am Kathleen. Do you feel overwhelmed, burnt out or pulled in a million different directions? Are you struggling with your relationships, work or health? Is it difficult for you to find time for yourself, let alone, be kind to yourself? Do you feel "stuck" and unable to move forward? Many of us are experiencing loneliness, depression, anxiety and social isolation, so it is important to make caring for yourself a priority. Therapy can help you feel more connected, balanced and peaceful. Together, we can help identify what is not working and regain a sense of balance. We'll use a holistic approach, addressing the needs of your body, mind and spirit. We will develop a "toolbox" of coping skills and create new insights and awarenesses to help you become a happier and healthier version of yourself. Seeking therapy can feel threatening but it's one of the greatest gifts you can give to yourself and by doing so also give to others. In our sessions, I will meet you with kindness, compassion, humor and evidence-based modalities, so you can overcome obstacles and habits that may be holding you back. My goal as your therapist is to provide a safe, supportive and empathic environment in which to work through current issues, conflicting relationships and/or past pain. I look forward to meeting you and working together.

I employ various evidence-based modalities that enhance patient care and facilitate the tailoring of individualized treatments based on the specific needs of each patient, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Trauma (CBT-TF), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Seeking safety (SS), Triple P Positive Parenting Program (Triple P), and Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorder (PMAD). If you are a client of Kaiser Permanente, it is necessary to obtain a referral from Kaiser before proceeding. Once you have received the referral, Kaiser will provide you with a link to schedule a session with me. I specialize in helping individuals as they navigate grief, anxiety, depression, anger, relationship challenges, and behavioral concerns. I understand that these struggles are not just diagnoses—they are lived experiences that can quietly shape how you see yourself, how you connect with others, and how you move through your day. Anxiety can feel like a constant hum in the background—keeping you on edge, overthinking, and emotionally worn down. Many people carry it for years without realizing how much it’s impacting their relationships and sense of peace. If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to keep managing it by yourself. Depression is often misunderstood because it doesn’t always look like sadness. Sometimes it feels like exhaustion, numbness, irritability, or simply going through the motions without feeling connected to your life. It can make even the smallest tasks feel heavy. But depression is treatable, and with the right support, it is possible to feel like yourself again. In our work together, I offer a space where you can be seen, heard, and understood—without judgment. My goal is not only to help you cope, but to help you reconnect with yourself, find clarity in what you’re feeling, and build a life that feels more grounded, meaningful, and yours.
