I approach life with curiosity and a sense of purpose. I have worked in the mental health field for the last 8 years from nonprofit organizations, outpatient substance abuse facilities, crisis on call agencies and the judicial system. Prior to my experience as a marriage and family therapist, I was a stand up comic. I try to bring humor into the room whenever possible as I believe laughter is the best medicine.
I am a trauma therapist who utilizes EMDR and other therapies to help people who are struggling after an overwhelming event such as a car accident, medical procedure, assault, natural disaster, or witnessing a shocking event. I also support healthcare workers who have experienced disturbing situations in the course of their job. If you are motivated and short on time, I can provide you with tools and knowledge to support you through a difficult space. Additionally, I have extensive experience in helping adolescents/teenagers; this is a time of life where everything feels big.
I’m a laid-back, client-centered therapist who believes therapy should feel like a safe, relaxed, and nonjudgmental space where you can be your authentic self and explore what’s on your mind. My approach is collaborative and grounded in meeting you where you are. Together, we’ll work toward a path forward that feels meaningful and aligned with your unique needs and goals. I’m here to listen, offer support and perspective, and help you recognize and build on the strengths you already have. I believe meaningful change happens at your own pace, and you don’t have to navigate it alone.
I am very pleased to meet you. Before coming here and seeing my profile, you may have struggled alone for a long time, unable to easily share your personal issues with anyone, or perhaps you did share, but felt misunderstood or not fully supported. In a safe and trustworthy environment, I am ready to listen to your concerns or issues with empathy, without any bias or judgment. With my expertise, I am confident in working together with you to resolve your worries or challenges. I will listen to your unique history and problems with curiosity and respect, and I will do my utmost as a counselor in collaboration with you.
All things are interconnected. To feel better, you have to act better. To feel better, you have to think better. To think better, you have to feel better. To act better, you have to think better. To think, feel, and act better, you have to care for your physical health. To care for your physical health, you have to think, feel, and act better. Each has a corresponding effect on the other. However, the aspect of ourselves that we have the most direct control of is what we do, our acting. While we can influence other people, we cannot control other people. A great source of conflict and unhappiness results from our efforts to control others. If you want better relationships, the only thing we can control is what we do, how we choose to relate. We are responsible for what we do. Others are responsible for what they do. Accepting this fundamental reality and thinking, feeling, and acting in accordance with it is how we increase our experience of power, freedom, belonging, meaning and, very importantly, fun.
My professional experience includes over 30 years of post-Master’s clinical work, including leadership experience in foster care, chemical abuse and addiction, inpatient and outpatient mental health services, and crisis intervention, de-escalation, and hospitalization. I have worked extensively with youth and families, diverse populations and life issues, providing services in various settings, including family homes, schools, juvenile detention facilities, jails, outpatient clinics, and inpatient psychiatric facilities.

Hello and welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 7 years of experience. I have earned two master’s degrees from California Baptist University and am currently pursuing my Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology.
I truly love the work I do and feel honored to walk alongside my clients as they navigate life’s challenges. I strive to create a space where you feel safe, supported, and free to be yourself.
I’m also a therapist who is honest and direct—I will gently challenge you at times, because I believe growth happens when you are supported and encouraged to step outside of what feels comfortable. Together, we’ll build a strong connection and work toward the goals that matter most to you.
I believe in your ability to grow, heal, and create meaningful change, and I’m here to support you every step of the way.
I have been in the psychology field for over 20 years now. I love what I do and helping every client become successful. The relationship between the client(s) and myself is important in achieving the goals we set together. How our past experiences have influenced our current lives is a key issue. I feel that support systems in our daily lives are important to examine. The issues of separation, loss, freedom, dependence and independence are crucial to examine as one leaves home and parental influences. I work with individuals, couples, teens and families.
Every session is different because every client is different, as are their problems. I'll encourage you to talk and explore, in a structured way, your feelings and experiences. Whatever the technique or clinical approach, psychotherapy is not a magical cure, it is a process to help you find the capacity for improvement within yourself.
Psychotherapy aims to help you gain insight into your difficulties or distress and enable you to find more appropriate ways of coping or bring about changes in your thinking and behavior. Psychotherapy involves exploring feelings, beliefs, thoughts and events, sometimes from childhood, in a structured way to help you do it safely.

Hello! I’m Sandra V. Chávez, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Registered Psychological Assistant with the California Board of Psychology. As a first-generation Latina, I learned ambition, tenacity, and determination from my parents. I believe therapy should be tailored to each person’s unique needs, which is why I use an integrative, eclectic approach that draws from evidence-based methods and holistic practices, including mindfulness and positive psychology.

Hi, I am a Marriage and Family Therapist licensed in California for 20 years and I hold a doctorate degree in the Philosophy of Counseling. I am in my second marriage for 30 years now, after my 24-year first marriage failed. We have seven children between the two of us, 31 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. I have had good success counseling couples who have given up on their relationship, especially those who have experienced infidelity. I don't counsel children until they are 18. Welcome! My name is Jesus, I am a multi-state Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 5 years of experience working with adults. If you are struggling to cope with the challenges that are life, I am here to help you. I strongly believe that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all model, and because of this, I take a collaborative approach to meet my clients where they are to help get them where they want to be. My motto in life is, life is about making positive movements forward.
Couples: I am TAKING Couples again. However only on Cash Pay basis. This is how it will work: You can schedule with me an hour consultation, you don't both have to be present, for this Consultation. From there we will meet 5 to 6 times for 1.5 hour sessions. It is very difficult to have Couples sessions within 60 min. The Cash pay is $250.00 for the 1.5 hour sessions. I understand the cost can be a deterrent in seeking help, however if you are both committed to doing the work 5 to 6 sessions should be productive and enough to see changes.
Individuals: Of course I am still taking individuals that are or are not in a relationship and need help. We were never taught how to be in a relationship of any kind. Yes there are tons of books of how to, however to put them to practical use can be very difficult. This can also relate to a relationship with a family member, friends or co-workers.
Sometimes our own mental health can influence all of our relationships, and you may need coping techniques for anxiety and or depression type symptoms. I will work with you individually to help you gain insight to your own behavior that may be influencing your relationship.
I am here to help with coping strategies for anxiety and depression symptoms or learning how to communicate more effectively with others.

I help individuals and couples heal and move forward and learn skills to feel more confident, connected, and emotionally secure.
