My practice centers on supporting women, with specialty care for adolescents. Many of the women I work with are navigating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, or major life transitions, and shifts in relationships, home, work, or family can leave them feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected.
I help clients understand what keeps them stuck, build practical coping skills, and move toward healing and resilience. I bring particular depth to trauma, grief, life transitions, and experiences connected to the child welfare system, including foster care and family disruption.
As an Arabic-speaking therapist, I understand how much language and cultural connection matter in the healing process. My approach is warm, person-centered, and tailored to you, creating a space where you feel genuinely seen and heard, free from judgment.
Whether you are carrying unresolved grief, managing anxiety or depression, or facing a major life change, I am here to walk alongside you. If you are ready to take the next step, I invite you to reach out so we can talk about how I can support you.

and valued, and I occasionally use humor to support meaningful therapeutic work that fosters
long-lasting growth and change.

I frequently use metaphors, storytelling, and practical examples to help make difficult concepts easier to understand and create meaningful change.
My experience has taught me that every person's story is unique. I don't simply treat symptoms—I work to understand the whole person, including how childhood experiences, relationships, trauma, and the nervous system continue to shape life today. I have extensive experience treating PTSD, complex trauma, and traumatic brain injury (TBI), and I also bring personal insight into the recovery process from TBI. Additionally, I am both personally and professionally familiar with the challenges faced by Adult Children of Alcoholics (ACOA) and individuals raised in dysfunctional families. I believe therapy should be both supportive and transformative. I will meet you with compassion, but I will also encourage you to do the work that creates lasting change. My clients often describe me as part therapist, part coach, and part cheerleader—I celebrate your successes, help you navigate setbacks, and gently challenge you when old patterns keep you stuck. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and over 15 years of experience in the mental health field. I specialize in working with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and dual diagnoses. My approach is compassionate, culturally sensitive, and focused on treating the whole person—I utilize evidence-based and self-empowering modalities to help clients gain insight, heal from within, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
With more than 20 years of clinical experience, I work with adults and couples who want to better understand themselves, their relationships, and the patterns that may be keeping them stuck. I have particular experience working with ADHD, men’s issues, relationships, anxiety, eating disorders, and emotional and behavioral concerns.
My approach to therapy is warm, direct, curious, and collaborative. I listen carefully, but I also believe therapy should be an active conversation. I’ll ask questions, offer observations, help make connections, and sometimes challenge you to look at something differently.
My training spans cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, behavioral, neuropsychological, humanistic, and Adlerian perspectives. Rather than asking every client to fit one particular model, I draw from these approaches based on the person sitting across from me. Sometimes that means practical strategies for something happening right now; other times it means understanding why the same pattern has followed you for years. Ideally, therapy gives us room for both.
You deserve support that actually feels supportive. Therapy isn’t just talking — it’s being understood, validated, and strengthened. I’m here to walk beside you with warmth and a holistic lens as you navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, life changes, and self‑esteem challenges. My goal is to offer a space where you can breathe, grow, and feel more like yourself again. Whenever you’re ready to take the next step, I’m here.

Hello and congratulations on this major step in your wellness journey!
I prioritize services to BIPOC LGBTQIA+ individuals and couples seeking support transforming their relational patterns while deepening understanding of self. Together we will utilize the power of relationship as a sacred tool, capable of moving us all further away from colonized markers of wellness, and closer to a version of healing rich with compassion, self-confrontation, and reverence for your personal story. Our work together will be rooted in the principles of liberation psychology and harm reduction. My aim is to amplify the innate wisdom existing in you, while guiding you towards a version of wellness that prioritizes curiosity and self-celebration!
I’m Johanna. I work with creative people, and with those who are working to heal, transition, and evolve from things that have hurt them. My approach blends traditional talk therapy with deeper work. With the use of Brainspotting and Jungian interventions, because real change rarely happens at the surface, we create deep meaningful change. When we're willing to go underneath, to the place where the old story lives, we can heal it and create room to become something new.

I also offer a space to process infertility, pregnancy, postpartum and parenting challenges. I was born in the US, but I was raised in Mexico. I lived in Tijuana for 10 years when my parents decided to move us across the border to Chula Vista, California. As a first-generation Mexican-American, I experienced a duality of cultures. I was often judged for either being “not Mexican enough” OR “not American enough.” I also faced enormous pressure to be successful – to justify my parents’ having left their beloved country so my sibling and I could have a better life. This is one of many reasons I decided to follow this path: to help those who feel alone in their journey. That’s how I felt when acculturating to this country.
I earned my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) at San Diego State University (SDSU). I was going to go directly into the workforce and eventually go back for my master’s, but an awesome professor challenged me to apply right away so I wouldn’t lose momentum. So, that’s what I did. I ended up getting my Master of Social Work (MSW) at the University of Southern California. It took some time and courage to finish all my licensing requirements, but it was worth it! I’ve been licensed as a clinical social worker in California since 2019. I am certified in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma-Focused CBT.
Welcome to my profile. I hope it will help you find a therapist who is a good fit for you.
My name is Jon. I have 28 years of experience in the mental health field. I earned my MA in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Holistic Studies in 2002 and have been a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2009.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a dishwasher, forklift driver, small business manager, and completed an internship with the United Nations. I have lived and worked overseas and across the United States, collaborating with people from many different backgrounds. Like many, I have faced cancer and other significant life challenges.
I went back to college later in life because I wanted to help young people and their families build better futures. I chose a holistic approach because I believe in working with the whole person — mind, body, feelings, relationships, history, and spirit.
I spent 15 years supporting youth experiencing significant emotional and behavioral challenges and their families. I also worked with adults in community settings. For the last 13 years, my primary work has been with incarcerated adults. These experiences have taught me about shame, redemption, resilience, and dignity. I have witnessed people at their lowest points and seen their remarkable capacity to change, heal, and rebuild.
All of this has convinced me that people are always more than the labels they carry or the worst things they have experienced. I believe every person is worthy of being heard and treated with dignity and respect — and that change, growth, and transformation are possible for everyone.
Hi! I'm a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) based in California. When anxiety, depression, or the weight of past trauma takes over, simply getting through the day can feel like an uphill battle. You don’t have to settle for just "getting by," and you don't have to figure out the way forward alone.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I help teens and adults move out of survival mode and into genuine, lasting recovery. My approach looks at the whole picture: who you are, what you’ve carried, and the real-world environment you navigate every day. Integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and trauma-focused care, our work goes beyond temporary relief. Together, we will target the root of what’s keeping you stuck, quiet the noise, and equip you with practical, everyday tools to reclaim your energy, restore your internal control, and build a life you are genuinely excited to live.
