Hi! I'm a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) based in California. I received my both my Bachelors and Masters degrees from Chapman University in California and have been practicing for over 16 years. I practice psychotherapy using an Existential-Humanistic approach, which focuses on the promotion of personal growth, self-awareness, and insight. A large portion of my clinical work has been dedicated to assisting adolescents and their families through trauma and tragedy. I also have worked extensively with adults going through major life transitions, parenting concerns, interpersonal difficulties, and relationship conflicts.
Our first session together will be an opportunity to build the foundation of a therapeutic alliance and will involve gathering of your history. We will talk about the reasons that you have sought out therapeutic services and discuss concerns, barriers, and current support systems.
I am extremely passionate about helping others; I believe it is essential to connect with others on a deep level in order to help them feel understood, validated, and supported.
I really love to meet my clients where they are at and get to a deep understanding of their presenting concerns to help them work effectively towards their treatment goals. My work with you will focus on how you communicate with yourself and with others; looking for ways to foster increasingly beneficial habits, patterns, self-esteem, and an effective communication style.
Therapy is an intricate process of growth and self-discovery; it demands a level of self-introspection and willingness to discover the deeper reaches of yourself. In my therapy sessions I promote positive transformation by encouraging an optimistic outlook with the adoption of healthy attitudes and feelings. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy focuses on understanding the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to then to help individuals identify, challenge, and change negative thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors that contribute to psychological distress.
