I bring both professional knowledge and lived experience to my work as a therapist. Living with a Bipolar I diagnosis has given me firsthand insight into the challenges of navigating mental health systems, stigma, and the ways these experiences can affect identity, relationships, and everyday life. This perspective allows me to meet each client with empathy, genuine curiosity, and respect for the meaning they make of their experiences. I am a shamanic clinician, which has been largely shaped and inspired by experiences with what’s often referred to as mania or psychosis. Perception is central to my therapeutic approach. Our histories, emotions, environments, and nervous-system states can all influence what we notice, how we interpret events, and how we respond. By exploring these patterns without judgment, I help clients expand their awareness, consider new perspectives, and develop greater choice in how they relate to themselves and the world around them. My professional experience includes psychiatric residential treatment, addiction medicine, youth detention, and private practice. I integrate somatic and sensory-based approaches (including brainspotting, meditation, drumming, sound therapy, aromatherapy, guided visualization, and shamanic-inspired practices) to support emotional processing and nervous-system regulation. I also emphasize nature, nutrition, sleep hygiene, and other foundations of whole-person wellness. From Grow Therapy's Leadership: "Based on your exceptional client engagement and outstanding care, you’ve officially qualified as a 2026 Grow Therapy Thriver! 🎉 (roughly 700 out of 25,000+ providers) This recognition reflects the meaningful relationships you build with clients from the start and the trust you inspire through your work. Becoming a Thriver places you among a select group of providers who set the tone for excellence across the Grow platform. We’re honored to celebrate this milestone with you."

As a veteran therapist in my 70s, I've helped hundreds get to where they want to go. I'll come along side you - not as a sage on the stage but a guide on the side. We'll work together to explore where you've been, where you are, and where you want to go - at your pace, in your style, on your own terms. I provide a free 15-minute consultation to see if we're a good fit. I specialize in working with adults navigating through grief, failures, losses, depression, anxietym betrayals, uncertainties, setbacks, traumas, etc. I customize our sessions to your needs and wants (integrating client-centered, DBT, ACT, experiential, solution focused, and narrative modalities, from a faith-based perspective if desired). One of my life's mottos is "to see the best and to bring out the best in others." We'll explore and build on your strengths as we work towards moving from old patterns of thinking, feeling, and being that have held you back to becoming more of the best version of yourself.

Hi! I'm Ceylan . My name is pronounced "Jay-lahn". I'm Turkish. Are you dissatisfied with your life? Your relationships? Your work? Are you over-thinking? Are you beating yourself up? Are you struggling to make decisions about how to move forward to build the life you really want? Maybe you even know what you want but you are blocked somehow from moving forward? Therapy is a wonderful place to explore and overcome what is standing in your way. Whether you have unresolved trauma which created thoughts and behaviors which are no longer helpful to you. Or you’re struggling to connect to others and unable to form and keep supportive and meaningful relationships. Maybe your daily habits, or even addictions, are keeping you from being your best self. For over 13 years now, I have been supporting folks in their mental health recovery journey by creating a safe space to explore what it would take to have a fulfilling and meaningful life. Much of this journey involves clarifying and aligning with personal core values, improving relationships, and implementing healthier and more enjoyable coping skills and daily routines. I know the real you is in there, possibly blocked by self-doubt and unhelpful thoughts that could be saying "who do you think you are to ask for more?" You have one precious and fleeting life! Let’s explore together how to make the most of it. I believe in you!

With over to 20 years of experience working alongside children, teens, adults, and families, I’ve learned the importance of meeting people exactly where they are, whether mentally, emotionally, or sometimes even physically. My “out-of-the-box” approach is flexible and adaptable to each individual's unique needs, offering creative, client-centered strategies where you can feel safe, supported, and empowered to explore at your own pace. My journey began in community-based settings, working with individuals and families often navigating complex systems. That foundation shaped my core belief: to show up to each session with curiosity and deep respect for each person’s unique story. My approach has always been to meet clients where they are, helping them discover healthier coping mechanisms and become more effective in their daily lives. Therapy with me is not one-size-fits-all. I tailor each session to your unique needs, integrating different modalities to support your growth in ways that feel natural and accessible to you. As your therapist, I show up as my authentic self, with the intention of creating a space where you feel safe, supported, and empowered to explore at your own pace. I offer an environment where you can express yourself freely, gain deeper insight into your thoughts and emotions, and develop tools to navigate life’s challenges more effectively.

Understand, Reframe, and Navigate Human Behavior. Human behavior is rarely random. The way we communicate, react, withdraw, persuade, accommodate, or push back usually serves a purpose, even when the pattern is creating problems in our lives. I work with people navigating complicated relationship dynamics, particularly when boundaries, persuasion, control, or manipulation have become part of the equation. Sometimes that means recognizing how someone else’s behavior is influencing you. Other times, it means taking an honest look at patterns in your own behavior and understanding what keeps them going. You may have noticed that you’ve already considered change. Maybe you understand what you should do but find yourself responding the same way anyway. Maybe you keep giving in, questioning yourself, or getting pulled into interactions that leave you wondering what just happened. Therapy with me is about looking beneath the behavior rather than reducing it to a label. We’ll examine what drives the pattern, what it accomplishes, and how you can respond more deliberately. If you’re looking for a therapist who will actually listen—who won’t dismiss your concerns or pathologize your pain—you’re in the right place. Maybe you're wondering if you have ADHD, autism, or anxiety. Maybe you've been masking for years and don’t know where to start. Maybe you're carrying trauma, grief, or a deep sense that something has always felt a little off. I work with people who’ve spent too long feeling misunderstood, misdiagnosed, or minimized—and are ready for something different. You don’t need a perfect narrative. You don’t need to show up polished. You don’t even need to be sure what you need yet. With over 11 years of experience, I specialize in working with neurodivergent and emotionally complex clients—including first responders, trauma survivors, and members of the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities. I have a Master’s in Clinical Counseling, a Master’s in Forensic Psychology, and I’m currently completing a Ph.D. in Forensic Psychology. I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master's in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine. Though my title says "Marriage and Family," my door is open to individuals, couples, and families alike, because pain doesn't always fit neatly into one category, and neither does healing. My clients often arrive having carried their struggles alone for far too long. Maybe it's crushing stress that follows them from morning to night. Maybe it's anxiety that hums beneath the surface, never quite letting them rest. Maybe it's a relationship that once felt like home but now feels like a battlefield. Or maybe there's no name for it at all, just a quiet, persistent sense that something isn't right. I understand that place. I've sat with people in their darkest moments, in psychiatric facilities, in schools, in the quiet corners of their own lives, and I've witnessed both profound suffering and extraordinary resilience. I've learned that healing rarely happens in a single breakthrough. It happens in the steady, patient work of being seen, understood, and challenged to grow. Now in private practice, I offer something different from the quick fixes and surface-level solutions that so often leave people feeling unheard. I offer sustained, meaningful work, the kind that takes time, honesty, and courage. Whether you're navigating anxiety, stress, relationship wounds, or simply feeling stuck, I'm here to walk alongside you. Not to rush you. Not to judge you. But to help you find your way back to yourself, one honest conversation at a time.

Hi there, I’m Makenna, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California. There are times when life feels overwhelming, and carrying everything on your own can become exhausting. Whether you're facing anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, or feeling uncertain about your next steps, therapy can provide a space to feel supported and gain a deeper understanding of yourself. I strive to create a warm, compassionate environment where you can feel comfortable being yourself and sharing your experiences without judgment. Together, we'll explore what's contributing to your current struggles, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop practical tools to help you navigate challenges with greater confidence and clarity. I take a holistic approach to therapy and believe that emotional well-being is deeply connected to our physical, mental, and relational health. With a strong interest in the mind-body connection, I work with clients to explore ways of supporting healing and growth in a way that feels balanced, sustainable, and aligned with their unique needs. My goal is to help you build resilience, strengthen your relationship with yourself, and create meaningful, lasting change.

My name is Gabz, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been working in different fields within mental health for 7 years. I started working with children and adolescents diagnosed with Autism Spectrum and Dual Diagnosis. From there I worked as a case manager in community mental health, primarily resourcing for Unhoused and Undocumented families. After, I gained experience at the VA Hospital, specifically supporting military personnel experiencing Domestic Violence. Most recently I have spent the last few years working exclusively with LGBTQIA+ patients, providing 1:1 and couples therapy. I am intensely compassionate for the diverse groups of people I have served and if you find yourself to be someone who has struggled to be seen, cared for, or heard, I want to be someone who can change that. Therapy is hard work and can be a difficult first step, which is why I am intentional about making therapy realistic, creative, and fun whilst working together.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I am passionate about helping individuals navigate life's challenges with greater clarity, resilience, and self-compassion. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, relationship difficulties, life transitions, self-doubt, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, therapy can provide an opportunity to better understand yourself and create meaningful change. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your unique needs and goals. Drawing from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, attachment-focused work, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), I help clients develop practical skills while also exploring the deeper experiences and patterns that influence their thoughts, emotions, and relationships. EMDR can be particularly effective for processing trauma, reducing emotional distress, and helping clients move forward from experiences that continue to impact their lives. I strive to create a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where you feel safe to explore difficult experiences, build self-awareness, and strengthen your ability to cope with life's challenges. My goal is not only to help you feel better, but to help you create a life that feels more authentic, fulfilling, and aligned with your values.

Hi! I'm Nick and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who specializes in helping adults who are ready to move beyond just surviving and into a place of genuine connection and wholeness. I understand the profound weight you’ve been carrying for so long, whether it is the shadow of childhood trauma, navigating addiction or recovery, or the deep fatigue of not being fully seen. If you’ve spent years trying to hold it all together, navigating the world as a man, a trauma survivor, someone who is queer, neurodivergent, or in recovery, you may have learned to mask, people please, or stay small simply to survive. I specialize in supporting those who have felt fundamentally “othered” because of their identity, their sensitivity, or their complex struggles. My approach can be direct, relational, and deeply connected. You will not find judgment in our sessions. What you will find is honesty, profound compassion, and the kind of authentic support that allows you to safely let your guard down. I believe the most transformative healing happens in relationship through empathy, attunement, and having the space to be fully yourself, without the need for code-switching, masking, or minimizing any part of your experience. I bring warmth, humor, and realness into our work, meeting you exactly where you are today. Therapy with me is a genuine partnership, focusing on what you need, rather than a rigid prescription. We will collaborate to heal early wounds, develop profound self-compassion, and cultivate a life where you feel a sense of belonging in your own skin. If any of this resonates and if you are ready for a change and a relational experience with someone who understands your journey, I would be honored to connect with you.

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and U.S. Navy veteran who provides culturally responsive therapy to adolescents ages 14 and older and adults. I believe therapy should be a space where you can show up as your whole self and feel seen, heard, and understood without judgment. My goal is to create a supportive environment where clients can be honest about what they are experiencing while developing practical tools to help them move forward. I work with clients experiencing depression, grief and loss, major life transitions, relationship and family challenges, low self-esteem, difficulty with emotional regulation, and periods of feeling stuck, disconnected, or uncertain about what comes next. With adolescents, I enjoy helping young people navigate identity development, self-esteem, peer and family relationships, school stress, emotional regulation, and the challenges that come with transitioning into adulthood. Cultural competence is an important part of my work. I have a particular passion for working with clients of color and recognize that culture, family expectations, identity, community, and lived experiences can influence how we understand ourselves and how we experience the world. I strive to create a therapeutic relationship where these experiences can be openly explored and respected rather than overlooked. My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, practical, and direct. I don’t believe therapy has to feel overly clinical or disconnected from your everyday life. We will work together to identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, recognize your strengths, develop healthier ways of coping, and create realistic changes that support the life you want to build. Whether you are an adolescent figuring out who you are or an adult navigating a new chapter, therapy can be a place to grow, reconnect with yourself, and move forward with greater confidence.

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in California. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across California from San Francisco to San Diego! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in California.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
