Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Workers in California and a Licensed Independent Social worker in Ohio. I am based in Ohio, but work remotely with clients in Ohio and California. I hold a bachelor's degree from Ohio University and a Master's Degree from Simmons University. I meet clients where they are and incorporate diverse therapies and theories to address individual needs and goals. My goal is to help you feel better and more empowered to care for yourself.
In our first session, we will make introductions and I will encourage you to discuss any previous experiences with therapy or discuss what therapy looks like with me. We will discuss the main problem that brought you to therapy, and any physical symptoms you may be experiencing. We may look at anxiety or depression scales if that applies and I will provide you with some education about mood and the brain if that is applicable. Finally we will discuss some general goals and identify any small coping skills that you can take with you until the next session.
In my work with adults over the last several years, I have had the opportunity to support clients from diverse ethnic and social-economic backgrounds. This experience has allowed me to not only look at the individual and their unique life experiences, but also consider the environments and social systems that affect their physical and emotional lives. Helping clients to increase understanding of attachment, brain development, and social systems, has been beneficial to their ability to identify triggers, set boundaries, and increase empowerment over themselves and feel better.
I enjoy working with adults who actively engage in therapy to bring change. Whether it is a long term client who wants ongoing support and emotional management, or a short term client who has a specific goal. Our work will focus on decreasing negative feelings and increasing empowerment over oneself. It's important to understand where behaviors originate and the environmental and systems that can affect them. From there we will identify what a client wants to change and create a plan to scaffold coping skills according to the clients readiness and needs.

Feminist theories explore how systems have affected the way women view themselves and the world. Feminist theories can identify internalized misogyny that may affect a woman's growth or ability to take control of her life. Feminist theory can also be helpful to men to understand how the same systems affect them, their worldview, and relationships with women.
Understanding where behaviors may have come from or developed is important to increase acceptance and management of behaviors. Psychodynamic therapy can help to increase knowledge of the origins of behaviors, as well as attachment styles and other elements that may affect one's behaviors they would like to change or manage.
