I am certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, as well as a Family Nurse Practitioner with over 25 years of nursing experience. Most of my life’s work has been in mental health, working as a Psychiatric Mental Health Registered Nurse, both inpatient and emergency psychiatry. I have also worked in a variety of other settings, such as medical emergency, rehabilitation and wound care, home health, case management, geriatric outpatient residential, geriatric psychiatry (inpatient locked) and outpatient community care clinics. I believe in taking a holistic, mind, body, and spirit approach to addressing the root causes of your mental health symptoms and will develop a plan to move forward toward healing. I will listen carefully to your specific concerns and collaborate with you in developing a treatment plan that balances your physical and mental health. I provide Telemedicine (Telepsychiatry) services so that you can conveniently be seen from your home without having to travel.

My biggest strengths are compassion, active listening, empathy, support, and encouragement. I have real world knowledge of how stress and/or traumatic life experiences can impact our lives physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I loved Deidra. I was amazed at how quickly she assessed my anxiety problems and history. She was real and insightful. I immediately felt comfortable with her. She gave me a list of exercises to do and they are very simple and easy to follow. I am looking forward to beginning my journey to love myself with Deidra as my guide.
